Just for fun and because I was curious ... Justin Bieber - Baby 468,190,987 views/7,452,980 twitter followers = 62.8 views per follower
Adam Lambert - If I Had You 17,229,325 views/880,521 twitter followers = 19.6 views per follower I guess this means that on a scale of BSC, we have a long way to go. A YouTube view count is their measure of popularity and no one has ever disclosed how the counter works. It is not total views or view per unique viewer -- but if you view a video 10,000 from the same device, it appears to counts 1 time. YouTube does not disclose there secret formula for calculating view count but there is not doubt that there were not over 400 million unique viewers of that video. There is some speculation that it may count repeat views if a certain amount of time passes but not count immediate replays. Twitter follower counts are also deceptive. Bieber has millions of Twitter followers but not as many as count indicates. Twitter followers are the number of account IDs that are following someone and overstate the number of fans. Plus, both Bieber and Gaga have fans with well over 20 Twitter follow accounts -- in the race to be #1. All you need for a Twitter ID is a free email account and spare time. Same for Adam's Twitter followers -- I follow him 2 times -- once as Quu3 and once as Adamtopia. ETA: Edited for clarity and accuracy.

Weekend Meme: Lee Daniels Unites the Blondes, Adam Lambert Embracing His Role, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Needs a Haircut Posted by Ed Kennedy on February 20, 2011 "Adam Lambert tweeted that he missed his Glam Nation family. And while they certainly look like a fun bunch, they also look the type to drink the last of the orange juice and put the box back in the refrigerator. That's so annoying. I wonder if the tour broke a profit after the guyliner budget?" edit: Sorry, didn't realize I have forgotten the link to the article. www.afterelton.com/meme-02-20-2011

I guess I will just go back to the 1 - 10 scale where I fit comfortably.

Do the pictures of Adam smoking make anyone else cringe? I'm so glad he stopped! I'm so glad he stopped too. I noticed that Sauli smoked in those BB youtubes....hope he has stopped too.

I wonder about this myself and I have occasionally run across a reference to some scandal about view counts on x-factor or BGT videos. I've seen vague mention of this in articles about Simon Cowell but did not have the time or research expertise to track them down. But there were several reference to Simon having some kind of machine in place to artificially inflate view counts. There seems to be specific suspicion of view counts on anything that Simon has a connection to. Made me wonder since Bieber is specifically a YouTube phenomenon maybe that slick manager of his found a way to help things along so to speak.

Both were up only briefly with Monte tweeting the link on twitter and then were pulled. Monte as much as admitted that he could not officially put the songs up because of the rights issues but he made sure that the hardcore followers he had would know to copy the songs as soon as they hit thereby essentially releasing studio versions of both songs to hardcore fans.

Yes, there has been speculation about a lot of the YouTube counts -- Bieber, Gaga and Subo has all been mentioned. YouTube will not say how the counter is done but it appears that it has changed over time. One thing that is known is that it is only a Real Time counter up to 300 or so, then it changes to a batch process calculation and they are not actually counting views. That is why new videos go to 301 or so and then stop for a while. There is another point around 1,000 were the counter stays for a while.

Mayumi has a home theater system with a screen larger than some in metroplex theaters. Plus sound system. It's gonna be an awesome sqeeeeing, drooling experience. Watch out, Mayumi --- you might have a couple of guests flying in to join us!! Mayumi...sorry about your friend...so glad you all had your "Celebration of Life"...what a wonderful concept and blessing to all involved..... And on a lighter note, I would like to reserve a room for me and B'day girl for Sat. April 2, with the possibility of adding Fri. April l. lol Can't wait...It'll be a HOOT !!! (I'll try and get B'day girl, Twitter ninja extraordinaire, to send Twit pics/vids of our party...or maybe a ustream ( OK, I guess I may have gotten carried away with that idea......don't want to scare anyone away. HA) Lynneville....What you doing on April 2nd? Oh, man, I really want to go! However, April 4 is my wedding anniversary so I don't know if I can get away with going out of town on an Adam worshiping adventure. I'm going to pray that something big comes up at my hubby's work and he'll have to work that weekend!! (Is that bad??)

Note: Daytona 500 playing Mad World in the background of Dale Earnhart tribute. It is low but I think it is Gary Jules version.
