Okay, so who can host the So. Cal listening party? I'm in! We can probably find a better place than my house... My TV is 55 " but my house is small.

HAHA! I was about to post something similar. When we analyze every picture and make assumptions about their relationship based on how they look at each other, when we theorize how this whole thing might play out, when we voice our wishes for them, we are SHIPPING. LOL! When we fantasize about what they might be eating and what they might be doing and we write down those fantasies, we are writing FANFICTION. Just saying...  Omg.. I was just thinking the same thing. In fact was just about to post something similar!!! Let's not misinterpret the reason for discomfort the discussion brought upon some of us. We are not talking about Kirk/Spock here.. we are not talking about Harry Potter characters... so, comparison is not valid... Please tell me how I can make myself clearer. Yes, most of the stuff we talk about falls into the area of "fantasy", we speculate a lot, we "ninja" stuff out and try to connect to dots. But to say that writing about raping Adam is OK because he is sexual is the same as to say that every raped woman brought it upon herself... writing about raping his mother is on a totally different level...I don't even know what level it is.... some kind of sub-basement of the n-th degree...makes me nauseous.... I do hope that we will not see references to that stuff in this thread and a separate thread will be created. Q3 comment: If a post is offensive, ignore it, I will eventually clean it up -- as I have posted on many occasions -- if you post several posts complaining about one comment, you just make several posts + 1 I need to clean up. We are all adults here and need to be able to let something pass by. It will now take me about an hour to clean up the comments in this thread along with the 15 minutes to clean up the old thread. And y'all know I hate to delete anything!! |

I would love to get to didilynn's', but I'm leaving for Mexico on Wednesday, so it would be really hard to travel the weekend before. |

I just remembered that I first discovered "fanfic" but didn't know it was that a number of years ago - I bought the Colin Firth version of Pride & Prejudice at Costco, and was so in love with it that I read the book again and searched for related stuff on Amazon - embarrassed to admit I have the P&P soundtrack and book of "Behind the Scenes" - hmmm was this a foreshadowing of my Adam, buy everything related, fandom?
Anyway, I discovered that there were actually online articles and books written (some steamy) about the sex life of Mr. & Mrs. Darcy. Although these are fictional characters, not the same as real life people - it still surprised the heck out of me!

SCROLL ALERT ;D ... according to yesterday's posts they've fantasized Leila being raped by Kris' father, Adam being raped in many of the "fantasies"... I am thinking this is just a tiny tip... All I am saying is that I really, really do not want to have that stuff brought here. It was Tommy's father, he was a king, she was a queen whose husband had just died and he was attempting to take over their land.... That incident, which is only briefly discussed in the story, was the catalyst for all of Adam's actions leading up to him meeting Prince TommyJoe (his fathers favorite son). I didn't bring up that particular plot device to squeak anyone out. Laws of Illyria just happens to be in one of the best stories I've ever read in the fandom and honestly outside the fandom as well and I was using it as an example of good story telling. Without reading the story you would not understand why it was a very tiny but important plot point. Yes, there is dark!fic with varying degrees of violence/death... it involves Adam, Kris, and various other characters within the Idol bubble sometimes. It's a specific sub-genre of fanfic and it is very easily avoided as they give HUGE warnings for triggers and the writer makes it perfectly clear what the reader is getting into. I apologize if my recommendation of one specific fic made anyone uncomfortable. That was not my intention. I was merely sharing what I believe to be a truly beautifully written story that happens to feature a character named Adam lambert. he's nothing like our Adam as he does not sing and is in fact the King of a land called Illyria, which to my knowledge does not exist LOL. |
