DANG!! Gelly just pointed out that note is 17 seconds long! Cassie, that can't be easy, right? For a professional opera singer? All in a day's work. For many pop singers? Very difficult. For the everyday, untrained singer, impossible. Since most of us don't routinely listen to highly trained opera singers, it is damned impressive, isn't it? (I am talking about not only sustaining a note for 17 seconds, but sustaining it with gorgeous tone, perfect placement, consistent pitch, and consistent volume and strength.) Yes! It was beautiful! GFG!! ❤️

I am just wishing out loud. But I wish Adam could get his music listed in the Alt rock categories instead of the crowded pop field. Linkin Park just won the award (not surprised) beating out Twenty One Pilots and Imagine Dragon. But Imagine Dragon and Twenty One Pilots both get their music played on HAC and Top 40 so there is nothing for him to really give up. As I said, I'm just wishing out loud.
I was surprised to see Kelly Clarkson performing with a bunch of dancers surrounding her just like everyone else. Turned away half way thru P!nk performing while scaling a building. I guess after watching Adam and Queen rocking out with Adam's extraordinary vocals and performance style nothing was going to look good to me tonight. HaHa!

Since I'm the one who brought up the opera thing, I'll just say that I KNOW that opera singers have amazing voices and incredible stamina. I was lucky to go to one real opera in my life and I loved it. And of course I've heard opera singers on TV, movies, etc. But my knowledge is limited. When I saw my one live opera, the main singers generally did not sing song after song after song at top volume and strength. There was a lot of "story" going on with smaller connecting songs in between the BIG songs, many sung by other singers. Maybe I'm over-imagining what Adam does onstage with Queen. But I do know, as many here have said, that he sings many demanding songs right in a row in a pretty short period of time. I guess I'm just giving him credit for being able to do something that most pop/rock singers cannot do, at least with his type of voice quality. Adam may not have the skills of a true opera singer, but he sure rivals their tone and control and richness and stamina. Top it all off with his great personality and looks, and you've really got something special. Trouble is, he still doesn't get the wide recognition outside of his fan base, and he sure doesn't win the big awards, even when his music proves that he's is worthy. How he is still a well-kept secret is beyond me. And lurleene, I totally agree. Adam should be in the alt category for awards. Not only does it suit his music better but it would give him a better chance of winning some damn awards. To be a talent like he is and never win squat is absurd. Ate lunch with a fellow Glambert friend today and we agreed that at some point, Adam should probably form a permanent band that has its own identity as a BAND, not just Adam as a solo singer with a backing band that changes all the time. I think Adam might get more attention that way, more acceptance. Bands take on their own group personality. It just might work for Adam to become the front man for a new original band. Just a thought.

Not so knowledgable on vocal techniques. But Adam did say he got training in his teenage years. Could Adam do all this without the training he got? How much of what Adam is doing with Queen God Given Talent. And how much of it is training.

I agree feel the same way about Queen and Adam. there was no show stopper in my opinion zt the AMAs......Adam is a show stopper,to me he is heads and tails above most of the current pop world. Bruno Mars ,if there, IMHO would have carried the day.To add about Adam being lead for his own band...Hmmm interesting,He just seems to want to go off in all different types of music... THat's what Queen has always done .. all types of music... hmmmm :

Just a thought. Or maybe something like Springsteen. He is the recognized talent (the boss) but with a permanent band. Would not want Adam to give up being the face and the draw and the name. Don't think he would want to either. ETA: I think that would still be considered solo with a permanent or touring band.

I don't think Adam well be in a band any time soon lol. In Sam Smith in a band? No Adam is a solo star. And that is they way it should stay.

Sat down with a glass of wine and Adamtopia; my first time being 'really here' in six weeks. Just watched and listened to WWTLF in Helsinki; and OMG! The magic is still there! I can still be transported! My first goosebumps in awhile!! The Universe be blessed . . .

Girldrummer...I understand what you are saying about Adam being a part of a band but then I think...people like George Michael, Elton John, Elvis, and even MJ after he broke away from the Jackson Five were not fronting any band. Adam seems to value the freedom he has in guiding his career and taking total control. I just don't see Adam as being another member of a band even if he is the front man. I think Adam just stands out too much to be one of a group. But that is just my opinion. He might love being in a group.
