Good point. Yeah, I could see that they'd want to see what that song did before moving on FYE. Or maybe just putting some distance between the two? I don't know if it's a valid comparison, but Kris Allen's single, LLWD was released for d/l on September 21st, released to radio on October 12th, and the vid released November 6th. His album came out November 17th. I'm looking forward to a more focused approach with this next single. It was kind of all over the place for a lot of different reasons last time. |

I keep wondering what would happen if someone performed this in the Puritan USA. There would not be enough pearls for pearl clutchers to clutch. You know, I really don't wear much jewelry, so I just made a donation to the Trevor project thru the site rabbit set up. I wouldn't buy it just to meet that goal because only 30% goes to Trevor. Yes the site rabbit set up is awesome too.  And kapsiz I'm glad you enjoyed this Justin Lee Collins interview!!! One of my favorites! :D Yeah, I definitely don't want the 13th bday donation page to confuse/detract/distract in anyway from the Pennyroyal drive, so I'm kinda pausing on promoting it widely myself. But as you mentioned, it is one option (along with making a straight individual donation to the Trevor Project on their site) for people who for whatever reason are very sure that they won't buy the Pennyroyal items, but still want to provide support. I'm sure the Trevor Project will be very happy with the $560 dollars fans raised so far! |

How many weeks usually are going by between first radio play and the release? maybe 2-3 weeks? what about the video? how many weeks before the single release is the video premiere? I don't have any knowlegde about such things, but I'm wondering about the earlist possible release date. 8-) I think it varies a lot depending on how promo is handled, but FYE single premiered on Ryan's radio show on October 30th, was released for purchase on November 3rd. The FYE vid premiered on November 24th on VH1. And it debuted the week of November 28th on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. The album itself was released November 23rd. But I really really really hope and believe that the first single from #2 will be released a couple months before the album release. To be eligible for a Grammy nom, the single would have to be out by September 30th, I think. wouldn't it be better for the first week sales if the single would be released after 1-2 weeks after radio and musical channel premiere? I'm not watching alot musical channels in the past years, but I had the impression, that the single release often was a few weeks after the video premiere, there would be more time to promote the single before release and having better first week sales (which are important, right?). I'm just guessing, but maybe the FYE video had been released later, because there was no time to do it earlier. |
