Releasing the single 6-8 weeks before the album, builds aniticipation for the album for non-stans. The single always comes out before the video, in the US. Sometimes the video is much later. Adam's videos were timed pretty well, IMO. Most singles are released first and then go to radio a few weeks later. People like Gaga and Katy Perry do not even need radio add dates, because the stations start playing them as soon as they are released on i-Tunes. If Adam could get 2 solid hits in a row, I think he could fall into the group of artists that get their songs played immediately. I wish I were optimistic as you were MySpenc. I definitely feel Adam will get a decent amount of airplay but the only way to get Adam played non-stop is to blackmail the PD/DJs of each station. That or have him borrow a page from Katy Perry and shoot whip cream from his man breasts because the PD/DJs obviously have a whip-cream fetish.

@idolfanforum Bitney Spears Moving To RCA After Sony Label Shift - RTT News: RTT NewsBritney Spears Moving To RCA After Sony ... t.co/M9UBoaaAs rumored Britney has moved to RCA The shift comes as part of Sony's current label shakeup that sees label fat-cat L.A. Reid take over the helm at the newly reformed Epic label group. Reid's new labels will include the previously existing Epic brand in addition to Jive records. Jive had previously been joined with RCA, prompting the labels to shift various artists amongst themselves. "We are still working on our newly combined roster. But when we get done, it will have about 70-80 acts, which is a good, manageable number. It will include a lot of superstars, like Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Britney Spears, R. Kelly, Ke$ha, Daughtry, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson, Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake," RCA Music CEO Peter Edge explained to Billboard."

Here's a cover of Soaked by Alex Forriols (Spain Idol)- the same guy who did Fever.
He did If I Had You, too but I didn't like that one as well. Does anyone know this guys story (we may have discussed this before but I don't recall it)?

On the question of typical release schedule for singles. Here is an example, Katy Perry's "California Gurls".
Release to radio: May 7, 2010 On sale digital download - worldwide: May 11. 2010 (+4 days) Music video premier: June 15, 2010 (+38 days) 2nd single "Teenage Dream" released to radio: July 22, 2010 [3 iTunes promotional singles were also released before the album] Album release: August 24. 2010
CG on sale history: Worldwide May 11, 2010 Digital download (+4 days) Germany June 11, 2010 CD single United Kingdom June 21, 2010 CD single, 7" France June 28, 2010 CD single
For Adam, I would expect a radio premiere on a Thursday or Friday, and an on sale date of the following Tuesday. Assuming a September single release, an October music video leading to a November album release makes sense.
Adam will almost certainly only have one promoted single before the album is released, not two+ like Katy.

The CD singles usually is released after the music video and about 5 weeks after the worldwide digital release.
