Good lord. First the busted big toe. Now the nuts. I sure hope Monte protects those precious guitar fingers, NOTHING can touch those.

I've always wanted to ask, how do you know the correct proportions ? Because you are right they always look better after we change them to the proportions you recommended... : It really isn't rocket science ... but you do need to know the real dimensions of the picture you are starting with. On a PC I think you look it up in "Properties" ... on a Mac it is in "Get Info" or Command+I. If the pixels for height and width are the same, you enter 100 for both avatar width and avatar height in your profile; your avatar will be the largest square size possible (like mine). If the height and width are not the same, it is only slightly more complicated. You always enter 100 for the larger dimension. Then you divide the smaller number of pixels by the larger number, and the result is the avatar's smaller dimension. For example, let's say your original picture is 480 pixels wide by 268 pixels tall (BTW, this is an actual example of someone on ATop whose avi is still squished). So the width, being the larger dimension, is going to be 100. The height, being the smaller dimension, will be 268 divided by 480, or 56. I hope I haven't confused anyone. If so, we can go play in the practice thread with more examples ...

Just finished watching the news - from the pictures, there has been a tremendous amount of damage to Christchurch. And, as a priest they interviewed on the CBC said, talking about people trapped in his church, "it's not the building, it's the people".
Thoughts and prayers for all the people of Christchurch...

On Tuesday 22nd February 2011, @lisarrific said: Monte is getting his vasectomy on Friday morning and we are invited to Madonna and Demi's Oscar party on Sunday night. He RSVP'd that we probably can't make it because he'll be recovering... I told him that I don't care if he has to wear a jock strap made out of ice cubes, we are going! I shop tomorrow Good lord. First the busted big toe. Now the nuts. I sure hope Monte protects those precious guitar fingers, NOTHING can touch those. I agree. We have our priorities.

I'll bet there is no other AFL fan forum on the planet with such perfectly proportioned avis. You're the best!!!

I'm now running off to check my new avi using above instructions...I thought I'd done it right, following JustKaren's instructions when she helped me with my former avi...back in a minute or two! E.T.A. - Whew - it works out right! JustKaren, you're a good teacher!! Thanks again for showing me how to do it!!

Good bet that Amazon price drops like the Adam DVD is doing means that their orders are increasing. Part of their automatic pricing system --- the more they order, the lower the price. It is hard to confirm this but I am 90% sure that it is the #1 music DVD on Amazon right now. It is the highest ranked DVD on the music album chart. The only question is there are a number of Music DVDs classified as TV/Movies but it seems to be higher than all of them. At #67 on Amazon music that would be a weekly sales rate of about 400 units -- not bad a month before release. And headed up. BB may have a hit here.

I love being an Adam fan.

Thanks JustKaren, it makes sense now (although not sure I totally got it - and to think math used to be my best subject)

seoulmate and Marysue ... thanks for your kind words! I know I annoy some people with my objection to squished avi's, but our BB deserves the extra few seconds it takes to make him look right! ;D
