Isn’t Riff‘s birthday on Monday, January 29th? I‘m wondering, because I‘ve never celebrated anybody’s birthday before the actual date. (That means bad luck where I live.) So is that normal in the US? Sometimes the parties are planned for the day everyone can get together. I'm sure they acknowledge his birthday on the actual day! Lots of school kids celebrate their birthdays on Saturdays....when everybody is off school and work, etc....at least they do around here. Riff hasn't really changed much over the last few years to me. He really doesn't look 7 to me.

So is that normal in the US? it is very normal in the US to celebrate birthdays on the weekend before or after the actual date, especially for a child's birthday party. Makes it's easier for people to come to a daytime party, especially people who work during the week. And children's parties are best held during the daytime, especially if going outside is an option. Thanks for the answers. We also use to celebrate on a weekend, but never BEFORE the birthday.😉 I can see though, that is could be more convenient, when a birthday is on Monday. We have to wait for the next weekend. And if we don’t have time then, we celebrate on the next one... It’s interesting to see, that these little things are different from country to country.

I know we're almost at 'the big day' - Adam's birthday. Thought I'd pass on to everyone a very worthy organization that has been working tirelessly to find pets lost in the firestorm of October. This is the organization that will receive my donation in honor of the birthday of the greatest performer I've ever known. If you're still 'on the fence' about donating, here is some information. Please know I'm not soliciting anything. Just passing along information about people who are dedicated to finding displaced animals and bringing them home to the owners who have already lost so much. www.winecountryanimallovers.org/donateHappy Birthday, Adam!! Done. Thanks for bringing it over, momtomany.

In the US, there aren't any rules about when a birthday can be celebrated. Sometimes, if a child's birthday is too close to Christmas, they will have a small family celebration on the actual birthday, but have the party with other children invited in the summer. Much easier that way. And the child doesn't get so many Christmas/Birthday "combined" presents.
