Calling for help from anyone, anyone. Bueller? I'm having a brunch on Sunday and I want to do a playlist for it. (One of my new favorite things to do since I came down with Chronic Adam Syndrome.) Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'd like songs that are familiar - nothing too obscure unless it's perfectly on topic. Here are the themes: - brunch
- morning
- heat - it's supposed to be in the 90's and we're on the patio
- it's 2 birthdays and one retirement
Haven't had time to really ponder yet but so far I've got: Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson Wish I Was a Kellogg Cornflake(?) - Simon & Garfunkel Old Friends - Simon & Garfunkel (for retirement) Oh What A Beautiful Morning - Oklahoma Chelsea Morning - Joni Mitchell or Brazil 66 I've got to go start working on the house, food etc. Will be checking in from time to time. ALL HELP FROM YOU TALENTED PEOPLE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Don't know when I'll get it done, I'm going to see Lewis Black tonight. Can't wait. I could use the laughs. ;D IDK for some reason I am thinking Jimmy Buffet. LOL. My Mom loves Jimmy Buffet and while I don't know the names of his songs they seem perfect for the retirement or heat angle...... I can do Buffet suggestions... Birthday- Trip Around the Sun (from License to Chill) Birthday?-Probably not but I love this one- We are the People Our Parents Warned Us About (from One Particular Harbor) Current topics- Trying to Reason with Hurricane Season (from A1A) Heat- The Weather is Here Wish You Were Beautiful (from Coconut Telegraph) I could do a lot more, but this seems like a start for someone who isn't All About Buffet...

We use it constantly at our house to annoy people we are waking up ;D For the drinking in the morning theme - how about "It's 5:00 somewhere"
If the Pitbull rumor is true (which idk) then shudder all you want but it could be a HUGE help to make his single a smash. Personally I am sick of Pitbull right now but that's because you can't turn on the radio without him being on every freakin track! LOL. He was on JLo's On The Floor, his hit song with Ne-yo, I think he has a song with Marc Anthony....he is hot right now and any collab with Adam would most definitely get him play on KIIS stations and expose him to a whole other audience. I am not saying if it's a *good* idea---I dont know for some reason the pairing seems awkward to me on paper although it could be fine in execution, at the most it would probably be Pitbull rapping an intro or a bridge or popping in here and there to be all MISTER WORLDWIDE!!!! lol--but as a strategy to get airplay it seems to be pretty solid.
That said, I kinda hope no because I am at the point of Pitbull over saturation and I wanna love his new single and play it without wanting to punch someone when I hear it. Sorry Pit. LOL
My personal goal for Adam's single is to hear it so much on KIIS LA that I get sick of it!

I am not angsting about the release dates or plans for either the single or the album. Yes, I wish I had new Adam music NOW! But, I have wished that for the past eight months, and made it thru. Juniemoon's essay about Elvis compromising his artistry to grind out three crap movies and albums a year to satisfy the fans put things in perspective for me. I do NOT want Adam doing Beach Party Bingo type movies and music. Everything we have heard about the work Adam has been doing has been glowingly positive. No indication that we don't have a release date yet because Adam doesn't have a good product. And, if Outlaws of Love is indicative of what Adam is creating, the album is gonna be awesome. Black Friday, Green Thursday, Blue Monday, Purple-polka-dotted Saturday..... I know nothing about how that works. Heck, I couldn't even sell Girl Scout cookies as a child. I have absolutely no expertise in marketing --- music or anything else. But, RCA and Adam's management company do. They have all kinds of experts, experience, data, information and connections that they employ. I'd much prefer to trust them than to go with the dictates of fans regarding how, when, and where to release new music from Adam. Adam is a smart businessman. I like that he is a perfectionist. I like that he is at a point in his career that he is being treated with respect and allowed to create his art without pressure and deadlines from the other businessmen and women. It's another indication of their confidence in Adam. But, perfectionist or not, Adam certainly knows the importance of release dates and marketing. Yes, the DVD and the Acoustic CD were delayed until Adam was satisfied with the results. That is a different scenario, IMO. Those were largely marketed to fans, and were not meant to be the next major offering. The release dates were not crucial. THIS release date is important. Adam wants to be hugely successful. Wants the public to devour his next release. Recognizes the importance of timelines to optimize his next release. I trust he will work until the last possible minute, but not beyond. If I am bored because I don't have new Adam news or music, that is my fault, not Adam's. If Adam has become such a focus in my life that I have no other interests, hobbies, work, or loved ones to enrich my life, something is very out of balance. Time to get to work on developing my RL. In fact, this lull in Adam music has inspired me to focus on MY music. I'm singing more, playing the piano more, immersing myself into creating music myself, for my pleasure. I'd gotten rusty and forgotten the joy of making music, not for anyone else, but just as an expression of me. So, it's all good. IMHO. Just delurking to say, perfect post Cassie. This really sums it all up, and although I'm as disappointed as everyone else that it's going to take longer than we thought, I'm counting on the professionals to know what they're doing. Although Adam stanning is so much more fun than some real life activities, they need doing too and it does keep RL in balance! Happy birthday to all the birthday peeps lately, and thank you to those who bring pics and information! I'm looking at you Gelly and Reimer as far as pics go!

LOL But don't you think if you're sick of Pitbull others are too? Or will be soon? Maybe his era is coming to a close - or will be in 8 weeks? lol Besides this makes Adam a follower and not a leader/innovator. Don't want him on the downside of current. But I know NOTHING about Pop music and especially Rap, so............. No, the desirable market for radio is not sick of Pitbull!

So color me not surprised if the lead single features Pitbull. This vocal/rapper thing is HUGE right now on KIIS – seems like every song has it, so if it's an in to help his lead single smash, I can get with that. It is HUGE! I have to say I really, really like it too. Seems like lots of today's popular vocalists are currently doing this (Rihanna or Bruno Mars feat. Emminem and B.o.B. feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore for example). And many more. They are played and played and played on the radio. If this lead single features someone like Pitbull and helps to get Adam played and played and played on the radio I wouldn't mind one bit. A hit single, something different for us and something I totally enjoy would be fine with me. The icing would be, we still get 11 (+ with bonus) songs from Adam alone, unless there are more collaborations. Even if that's so, I don't think it would be more than one more. #1 hit single here we come!!!!! It really would get him played....yay! It's what's popular (hence pop music)...and the top 40 fans eat it up. I want him dominating top 40 coz that looks like what he wants!

I have an 8-year old granddaughter (going on 12 or 13) who is mad at me because her grandfather and I are going to see Pitbull with Enrique Iglesias and we won't take her. She informed me that Pitbull was her favorite singer. I was floored she even knew who he was. I can't wait until she is 15-16, and I can take her to concerts with us.
