So color me not surprised if the lead single features Pitbull. This vocal/rapper thing is HUGE right now on KIIS – seems like every song has it, so if it's an in to help his lead single smash, I can get with that. It is HUGE! I have to say I really, really like it too. Seems like lots of today's popular vocalists are currently doing this (Rihanna or Bruno Mars feat. Emminem and B.o.B. feat. Hayley Williams of Paramore for example). And many more. They are played and played and played on the radio. If this lead single features someone like Pitbull and helps to get Adam played and played and played on the radio I wouldn't mind one bit. A hit single, something different for us and something I totally enjoy would be fine with me. The icing would be, we still get 11 (+ with bonus) songs from Adam alone, unless there are more collaborations. Even if that's so, I don't think it would be more than one more. #1 hit single here we come!!!!!

When I think of Adam and rap I think of something like that. I would love a collaboration like this one. I think it would go straight to the top of the charts. Or B.o.B. and Bruno Mars or B.o.B. again and Jessie J. BUT I don't see it as a first single, since Hayley doesn't sing much in this song. With the other two that I mentioned I see them as singles. But then again what do I know?

I'm not obsessed either. I just realized that with the "extension" of the single's wait & accompanying promo I will have to wait that much longer for a new, relevant avi. So I guess kitty is here to stay for awhile. Awwww, jazzrocks! I think you look really cute!!! Thank you.

If the Pitbull rumor is true (which idk) then shudder all you want but it could be a HUGE help to make his single a smash. Personally I am sick of Pitbull right now but that's because you can't turn on the radio without him being on every freakin track! LOL. He was on JLo's On The Floor, his hit song with Ne-yo, I think he has a song with Marc Anthony....he is hot right now and any collab with Adam would most definitely get him play on KIIS stations and expose him to a whole other audience. I am not saying if it's a *good* idea---I dont know for some reason the pairing seems awkward to me on paper although it could be fine in execution, at the most it would probably be Pitbull rapping an intro or a bridge or popping in here and there to be all MISTER WORLDWIDE!!!! lol--but as a strategy to get airplay it seems to be pretty solid. That said, I kinda hope no because I am at the point of Pitbull over saturation and I wanna love his new single and play it without wanting to punch someone when I hear it. Sorry Pit. LOL But don't you think if you're sick of Pitbull others are too? Or will be soon? Maybe his era is coming to a close - or will be in 8 weeks? lol Besides this makes Adam a follower and not a leader/innovator. Don't want him on the downside of current. But I know NOTHING about Pop music and especially Rap, so.............

I am pretty sure the Pitbull rumor is a fan-tasy.
And I trust Adam not to be a follower doing a hack rap fusion track. If he does one, it will be be Adamized in some way.
JMHO
ETA: No one would have Aerosmith+Run DMC could work together either. I really believe anything is possible!

That was Chunkeys opinion and even though I respect it and she has a right to it, it doesn't mean it's everyone who is listening to top 40 radio's opinion. I don't feel it would make Adam a follower. I think it makes him a smart artist who knows what's current and what people are listening to. He won't be on any downside. He knows what he wants and knows what's currently working. His single is being released soon and this is not going to disappear by that time.

Fitting with Adam? Rapping in the song, perhaps? There wasn't enough singing in that number to tell, really. The truth is twofold. 1. Not gonna be another big pop/rap/rock singer who can match Adam's voice for clarity, range, dynamics, technique, purity. No one, male or female. So, they are gonna have to provide a contrast to Adam, rather than to blend with him. Hmmmm, Urban rap with that heavenly voice? Strange, but, I guess it could work. 2. On the other hand, Adam is accustomed to singing with others. Has been doing it since age ten. Heck, he sounded good singing with Kathy Griffin, didn't he? So, he can make it work. (Personally, I shudder at the thought of Adam with a rapper, but, that's just me.) Thank you for answering me. I'm not much on rap but I'm all for anything that can get Adam radio play! ---------------------------------------------------------- Off Topic I'm a little distracted right now I'm watching Jack Layton's (Canada's official opposition leader) state funeral who died this week and his state funeral is on tv right now and Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies) just sang Hallelujah. This was the his last letter to Canadians: ndp.ca/hhJv1

cassie said: It's not just you. Me too! Add me to that list as well. I'm in agreement with Eber, who once tweeted this: @milestougeaux: I'm still holding out hope that I'll live long enough to see rap "music" die and fade away BTW, could we start abbreviating Burning Man as "B-Man" or something like that? Every time I see "BM," all I can think of is "Bowel Movement." Not a pleasant image.

Some ppl think a rap collab would be brilliant and others think it would be hackneyed. I just hope whatever he goes with it's something he truly believes in verses something easy to get him to the top of the charts. Oh and that I love it too. That's the most important thing LOL. And love him or hate him I don't see Pitbull's era over anytime soon, nor do I see the rap/sing collabo songs over either. It's a formula that works right now. IEventually it will run it's course and the pendulum will swing but I can't see such a change happening so quickly, and yeah 8 weeks is kinda quick for the tide of pop music to turn the opposite way. But then again I am no expert and as Marie said it's just my opinion.
