bit.ly/GNWDCSFWThere were so many MOMENTS during GNT. Every night reading the Twitter feed then waiting for videos was so exhausting but so much fun. Someone more ambitious and more organized than I should pick the top 20 (Take my picture bitch, the stairs, tongue diving, Amsterdam w Tommy, etc) and post them.

In the over two years Adam has been in the public eye -- he has not always said everything he knows but he has been honest. So I believe his words.....
If Adam says there is no released date, there is no release date. If it was secret, he could have said that he wanted to surprise us or he could have just ignored the tweet. He chose to answer that tweet and he gave that answers.
#1. Album release date is not set.
Adam tweet he was taking his time because he wanted to make it perfect. That is fine with me.
2. Adam is taking his time -- as he should.
I take Adam at his "word" and nothing indicates that RCA is involved with the album is not done. Adam did not say that he's done, and than two weeks later was back in the studio. He said he was going to work on his album until October.
3. RCA can't produce an album until Adam submits the finished album -- and they accept it. If he wraps up October 15, they can be in store on November 21. I am not saying it will be the release date, just that it is enough time.
I can understand why people might be disappointed that the single will not be out in "late summer" because there is no substitute.
But none of the things that would make me "angsty" or even "slightly concerned" have happened. Two things that would make me "angsty" about Adam's album which HAVE NOT HAPPENED:
RCA accepts the album but sets no release date and sits on it. DID NOT HAPPEN.
Adam stopped working on the album and headed off to Tahiti with Sauli for 3 weeks. Adam is in LA not Tahiti. All indications are that he is working really hard (no surprise, that is his style.)
I am pleased he is managing this and working to make it the best he can.
FINALLY, a November release is great. BUT some of the biggest albums in recent years have been released in other times. A couple of reminders: Adele "21" January 19, 2011 Feb 22, 2011 at least 3x platinum US. Eminen's "Recovery" June 18, 2010 - 4x platinum US. At the end of the day, it is not about calendars, not about big promotional events, it is about putting out music people want to own.
ETA: "Also, Entertainment Weekly may not be a source for great journalism, but they got that "November TBA" from somewhere." I called them. They got it from Adam's interviews -- they referred me to the RuPaul Interview.
I still think the album release will be November or early December. I expect Adam will wrap in October as he planned. And November album releases will start being announced in September. Some will not be announced until October. And RCA will probably not announce a date until Adam is done or very close to done.

From the opening page:
Sorry, not buying this. FYE had an official release date at the end of August, before it was even started, for the most part.
RabbitRabbit's BRILLIANT post at end of last night's thread:
Sure, Adam is a perfectionist, but he's also fucking professional. I would say the vast majority of creative artists are perfectionists and we will also dink around til the end of time if we don't have a concrete deadline.
Adam has the timing of an entire label weighing on him. I do not believe for one second, as Spring2009 and pjd just stated above that believe RCA is blithely waiting around keeping their entire scheduling roster open until Adam's Muse has cooperated and he deems the project, "Complete."
He's probably continuing to work through the entire timeline that he was given all along – through October to have it shipped by November. And Adam/RCA know damn well the retail/marketing/radio freeze that occurs in December and I cannot rationalize why they would let that slip through their fingers while he tinkers with this and that. This is business and shit needs to get done.
If you are still not satisfied when ship time comes, too effing bad. Join the rest of the world who have monthly, sometimes daily deadlines – you learn to make it work and it often ends up working better, as RabbitRabbit said because you don't have the luxury of second-guessing yourself and falling into "perfectionist" patterns.
And btw, "Perfectionist" really isn't much of a compliment. It comes from a place of self-doubt. I'd say Adam is more a detailed and committed artist and professional. He'll get his stuff done. And I still think it will be a November release date. RCA isn't going to hold their calendar open for that key week indefinitely.

Hey, Sauli's look is straight out of Tom of Finland! I have noticed Tom's influence occasionally on Adam's fashions but Sauli is making a great visual joke here. I wrote a short essay about Tom of Finland on ALFC way back in January before I even knew about Sauli. Check it out if you're interested: Tom of Finland and the Image of Adam LambertAdam’s look and style evolves and changes all the time. So if you don’t like one of his looks, just wait a week – he’ll be on to something else new and fresh. In some of his performances and photoshoots, I’ve been interested to see him drawing on the gay iconography of Tom of Finland. Tom was a Finnish artist and cartoonist who was active from the 1950s through the 1970s, and who had a major impact on gay culture and fashion. Q3 - when you set all the points down in numbered order I feel better. I'm wondering why RCA ED hasn't said anything (or has he?). It seems like a perfect opportunity for him to again mention that Adam is a perfectionist and that's why the delay. I'm trying to stay current here because I KNOW I will lose power sometime today or tonight or tomorrow and will fall waaay behind. Heck I sometimes lose power during a normal rainstorm. ETA: Wait! I keep flipping back & forth on this. Just read Susie's post and have to completely agree. Especially this: We all need deadlines. Very few of us have the luxury of taking all the time we want to dot all the i's and cross all the t's.

Is Wikipedia wrong then for Adele's 21? They say it was released Jan 21 in the UK and February 22 in the US.
You really don't think it would be a concern if the single was released in October and the album didn't come out for 3 or 4 months after that? Even worse is that the charts get all messed up in December, so if it did well and peaked in November or early December it would be dropping fast before the album was released. I just can't see RCA thinking that is a good scenario - they may not be able to do much until they get the album from Adam, but I would bet they can do a LOT of pushing to get it from him in time.
I will be SHOCKED if the album isn't released sometime in November or the 1st week of December at the latest.

How can we say that the album release has been delayed when we never had a firm date in the first place and still don't have a firm date? Adam and RCA may be right on track as far as their plans are concerned but they just haven't pinned down a definite date yet. My gut feeling tells me the album will be out for Black Friday--but my gut likes to lie to me. I can hope, though!

Have to agree, Susie. I think the album is done and accepted and just the final tweeking is being worked on, whatever that is. Adam may be recording certain vocals, but that's pretty common, I think. Need Kanadie's expertise here. Also, if Adam says the single in about 8 weeks, then they know the single. If they know the single then I say they know the album. He knows 12 tracks plus a deluxe version. We know he had a conference call, with RCA/Sony recently. Don't we also know he visited RCA while in NYC? Maybe I imgained that? LOL! "Release date is not set" to me is semantics. IMO, I don't think that means they don't have a release date. When RCA is within 2 weeks of the single, they will announce the dates. That's the way they've been doing it and unless new management changes their patterns, I see no reason why Adam's announcement will not be done the same way.
