Just listening to news... at least 65 lives lost in Christchurch :(. My sympathy and virtual hugs to all people in NZ.
Finland seems so safe place to live in when one hears this kind of news... no volcanos, no tsunamis, no earthquakes, no tornados etc.

Hi. This is my first official post on Adamtopia. I have been an Adam fan since Idol but just new to this site, which I found out about from Catzmadam. She is in Auckland (North Island of New Zealand) so will be fine. I met up with her last year In Brisbane for Adam's concert there. I am from Dunedin, New Zealand which is at least 5 hours south of Christchurch. Yes, the South Island has had a very rough ride lately between earthquakes and the mine disaster on the west coast last year. At least 65 dead from today's earthquake with the Christchurch mayor saying to prepare for more bad news tomorrow. There are quite a few Adam fans in Christchurch, so definitely thinking them tonight.

My thoughts are also with the people in that beautiful town.

2.26.11 19:30 Emma Gaala 2011 (Finland) Adam nominated for an award. Espoo, Barona Arena www.emmagaala.fi/2011/aanestys/ Streamed online and broadcast on YLE's channels.Hoping for the best, but Adam is there in pretty tough company. There are 10 foreign and 10 Finnish artists/groups all together up for this Emma. Depends on the voters who wins. (You can guess to whom I gave my votes 8-).) The artists/groups: 30 seconds to Mars, Adam Lambert, Avenged Seven Fold, Iron Maiden, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Muse, Pink, U2, Volbeat Antti Tuisku, Cheek, CMX, Disco Ensemble, Happoradio, Hevisaurus, Jenni Vartiainen, Lauri Tähkä & Elonkorjuu, Stam1na, Suvi Teräsniska

the comments thread in this queerty article has gotten really interesting, a lot of tensions coming out into the open and people talking to each other about them surprisingly. It feeds into the discussions we've had about commenting on blogs, etc.: www.queerty.com/is-adam-lambert-finally-ready-to-represent-the-gays-20110221/BTW: it's worth reading the whole thread there, and I wish this would go without saying, but please don't post there without thinking very very carefully about it...

Wow, the videos taken in Christchurch show a tremendous amount of damage, it looks very frightening. My thoughts are with you New Zealanders.

BIG WELCOME to kiwifever!!! Very very glad to hear you're not living close to Christchurch. Man, the news coverage is pretty shocking and depressing. According to reports from the BBC, it's rainy and chilly at night in NZ right now, so make yourself comfy by the fire in Adamtopia, and help yourself to

Thanks Aloha. Love the cat pic. It is great to know people from other parts of the world are thinking of the Christchurch people. They have had so much to deal with from the first big earthquake (plus the regular aftershocks ever since) without the more devastating one today. With the first one, they were lucky it happened during the night when people weren't out and about. Today, not so lucky. No damage down my way, though the quake was felt down in Dunedin by some quite significantly, but no one at my work (including myself) felt it. I will have to work at delurking more often! I will be coming to Hawaii in the middle of September at the end of my big OE to USA and Canada. Fear I'm going to bore my friend with too much Adam talk during the trip ... won't be able to help it!
Hi and thanks to prism, seoulmate, zinnia and angelkrash too. It's nice to meet other Adam fans! I probably should be heading to bed - creeping closer to midnight here. Lucky I'm a late owl. :D Popcorn does sound tempting. We have had a lack of a good summer down here this year. Pretty lucky where I am though - all things considered, especially after today's events in Christchurch. Thanks for your wishes. I'm really enjoying getting to know Adamtopia.
