One of the peripheral things to Adam that warms my heart is seeing the relative success of his dancers and band members. Most of the glamily were unknowns before they became a part of Adam's group. Being a part of Adam's band/dancers have helped them to live a dream as artists. Their families must be so proud. I will stop spaming and go back to lurking, but.... I grew up in the south on a farm. My family was poorer than poor monetarily, but we were somewhat Waltonesque. My brothers and sisters dreamed a lot of dreams living on that farm. We talked and dreamed under a starlit sky as we pondered the constellations. We grew up during a time of racial unrest and segregation. We dreamed with no real expectations that dreams would ever come true. Whether it was music, science, mathematics, politics, etc., we followed a dream not based on whether it was possible, but based on a compass north that we followed because it was in our hearts. I so love seeing Adam's band and any other artist follow the beacon and the light that has been emblazoned on their hearts. Lifestyles is not about sexual preferences. It is about choices on how one wants to live.

How is everyone ? And … after saying all those words, let me just quote my newly minted 13 year old…Who has loved Adam since she was 11.....
“I really , really, really , love Adam because he is not yucky , and sleazy… he is gay? That is great that means he will smell good all the time…” Ahhh the unquestionable wisdom of kids….
Loved your whole post, animated, but this part was my favorite!

(On another note.....Just Karen.....what am I doing wrong with my AVI? I've tried all sorts of ranges and BB still looks short. Is it the picture? I want those long legs to show.) It is a very tall and narrow picture. If you change the width to 67 and leave the height at 100, you will get that long lean look you want ...

Adam not only removed himself from San Diego at age 18 and that in spite of a welcoming and understanding home, he also went through a radical transformation of himself in the years to come. I remember one interview where a journalist tried on Adam's jacket and said something like I wish I could wear this. And Adam just said, anybody can wear anything they want. Initially I thought that was a bit short-sighted, as in 'not-everybody-looks-good-in-red'. But later I realized what he meant: If you want it enough you can make anything happen. He transformed himself from red-headed, overweight, average looking, do-goody, geeky boy to ROCKGOD! He did make it happen, willpower and all. What it takes though is that what you are trying to become is really what is inside of you already. Otherwise it is probably not going to work. When he said...'whatever you WANT', he really meant it. He had already crossed that bridge. Adam changed looks, changed place of life and circle of friends and then went and put at least some of the more visual parts of his lifestyle in front of many millions of mainstream, conservative leaning idol watchers, given them the opportunity to judge, the latter something most mainstream people try to avoid even in the most normal of circumstances. He went for it, not knowing what the outcome for him would be. He is walking the walk, that is for sure and as many have said: balls of steel. LOve, Love, Love...and a ton of respect and appreciation, that's all I can say. Thanks for the great discussion tonight. I LOVE what you wrote 8-)

Thank you and Cayman for not letting me hide here alone :D Well, I refuse to hide. I thought she sounded pretty bad. I have to agree with you guys. I don't think the song fitted her and some professional mentoring would really benefit her. She needs some time to mature. Welcome Vivlite and all the delurkers who have posted these past few days! I was pumping gas tonight and I heard the lady next to me tell someone that her son was in Christchurch, NZ. I thought of Caztmadam, that beautiful church that was destroyed, all the victims of this horrible earthquake, and of this Atop community with so many caring people who have grown to know each other through their love of Adam but have formed their own friendships and have become a global community. When one of us are hurting we all feel their hurt and are truly concerned for them. This is a beautiful community (thanks Q3) and I am so glad to be apart of it. Good night all!

Ooh -- if the Avidoctor is IN, would she mind having a look at this patient? I approximated your advice, I think, but don't want BB squinched, no way.

Sorry, got back from work late and only read the last few pages of the thread when I got here. Kept reading references to MWP's post, so I had to keep going farther and farther back until I found it. Eureka!!! That is a work of sheer brilliance, MWP!!! I took a page out of Seoulmate's book and copied the whole thing to save for the next time I get into a discussion with anyone about the semantics of PC. Really beautifully expressed!!!! *slow clap*

Yours actually looks pretty good, but if you want to verify it, it should be 100 wide by 67 tall. BTW, I'm THRILLED to see so many of the avi's turning out so beautifully proportioned ...

Regarding Alison. I can understand her on songs I know but not on new ones. Agree with most everyone that at GNT she was just noise. But I do think an Alison/Monte colloboration could be useful to them both. Monte's own music and voice isn't my cuppa and I'm not sure why he wants to be a solo artist. Monte seems to like to take people under his wing and while would probably be hard to work in but I think they could play bigger places with an Alison addition and they could do duets which he can't do with Tommy.
Great discussion today on so many issues, love the descriptions of why Adam may deliberately use words that aren't PC in describing himself. Facepalmed at the comments in the thread discussion linked from elsewhere on why straight women shouldn't' think their opinions should automatically be welcomed at every LGBT site simply because they happen to be fans of a gay celebrity and as such now know everything about LGBT issues by osmosis. Ahhed over pictures of Terrance and Dante. Quietly missed any panama hat sightings from yesterday's jet ski pic spams. And as usual spent 15 hours glued to my chair in front of an open Adamtopia screen. It never fails to pull me in.
