4evrmomof4 Linda Ladden Billboard Russia @adamlambert article>>> Èíòåðåñíàÿ ñòàòüÿ íà MSN: on-msn.com/nqMkl25 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Адам Ламберт пишет новый альбом Вторая работа "американского идола" будет взрослой и честной bringing the translation back from Aug 12th: Quick translation (I fixed Google to a readable minimum): "American Idol" Adam Lambert (Adam Lambert) , who conquered this year's Maksidrom festival, will soon finish recording his second album. The second glam-rocker's album does not yet have a title, but it is a continuation of Lambert's 2009 debut album "For Your Entertainment". "The new album will have a more serious tone. Of course, it will include songs suitable for a dance club/party, but there will also be some songs with intimate lyrics in minor {key}. "The first album I tried to make funny, deafening, somewhat over the top. My second CD will be more mature , honest and contemporary in sound. "For Your Entertainment" was a fantasy, the second album will be (looking for myself) introspective "- says Lambert. We want to remind you that the first Adam Lambert's album went "gold" . In late July, Lambert presented to the public a new song "Outlaws of Love", which will be released on the singer's second album. juniemoon and paperheart....please take a quick look back at what I was claiming. I am NOT in anyway arguing for Subo's artistic talents....what I am saying is that much of her success lies in serving a highly ignored demographic that has plenty of money in their pockets and just waiting for the right music. Currently, they will buy her, and Josh Rogan and sometimes Andrea Bocelli or Sara Brightman [when they put out their non-classical stuff] and that is about it. Part of that demo will like Buble [good grief...look at how well he sold and sells!!] but others will be uninterested in those 'American songbook' offerings...ditto Bennett. Give this demographic a cd with melodic, crisp, well sung and produced music with no condescension and compromise on quality and I predict it would sell millions. As I always say....I could be wrong... often am... I get what you were saying Muze but again I disagree that Adam would fit this niche. He's too out there to ever really do an album full of easy listening music, which is what you are talking about. Josh Groban has a beautiful voice, I own all his CDs but he's like a choir boy. It appears you think all Adam has to do is sing the songs in that style and people will flock to buy his music but it's honestly about more than just the music, it's also about the image and the comfort level of the listener. Right or wrong Adam isn't ever going to fit into that genre even if his voice (should he choose to use it that way) would be perfect for those type of songs. Not to mention that he'd alienate the fans of his who would never buy that type of music and he might never get them back if he veered that far off the path. There were plenty of people who became fans of him on AI who were seriously disappointed that he didn't go rock on his debut, however they hung around and stayed fans because he gave them just enough to keep them interested. If he went full on standards they bolt for sure IMO. The best part about Adam's talent is that as he matures so can his music. That's to say that it's possible some day, when he's finished being a rockstar he can then turn his attention to more "grown up" pursuits and he'll have the voice to pull it off. Not every pop star can say that. You make some assumptions about my thoughts that come from somewhere besides me when you say "It appears you think all Adam has to do is sing the songs in that style and people will flock to buy his music but it's honestly about more than just the music, it's also about the image and the comfort level of the listener. Right or wrong Adam isn't ever going to fit into that genre even if his voice (should he choose to use it that way) would be perfect for those type of songs." More than once numerous peeps on this board have either created or wished we had professional copies of some of the things he sang at the Upright Cafe and many/most of us already have the other songs I suggested would fill a underserved demographic. That is ALL I ever said. And I said, a good well produced, and well marketed album such as this would most likely do well. The songs I particularly mentioned [hope I don't forget one but they are earlier in the thread] Soaked, Can't let you go, A change is gonna come, Tracks of my tears, Come Home, If I can't have you, I can't make you love me, Crazy, What's up?, Mad World, Outlaws of love.....all of which he has already done, two of them on his FYE [if you include the EU version] and one on his new album. I have no idea why people keep on saying that I am trying to push him into old fashioned standards...I never, never suggested that at all. Perhaps you all are right and this stuff would not sell and Adam would never record it....tho you are wrong on at least 3 of them.... I am totally good with different opinions...I just felt it necessary to clarify mine.

Isn't it wonderful that we stan such an incredible, talented artist who can seamlessly cross so many genres? And, isn't it remarkable that so many Atopians with such differing musical preferences can come together on this forum in appreciation of GNAFL? We are all passing time while we impatiently wait for new music. The topic of what kind of album we would love to see Adam create is largely a reflection on who we are and what music we most enjoy ---- a very individual matter of taste and experience. So, if someone suggests that Adam would sound sublime doing a cover album of Patsy Cline standards, or would achieve world domination if he revived Gregorian Chant with a 21st Century twist, I may shudder and send a "nay" vote to the cosmos, but, there's no reason to argue it. It's not like Adam is lurking here to get inspiration for Album #3. Plus, Adam is such an innovator and free spirit, who knows where he will be and what he will be singing in 10 or 20 years? Just wanna be around to hear it! Agreed. I also think Adam is such a talent and can become such a force that if he decided to do Gregorian Chant, many of his fans would be pulled in and other non-fans would give it a try. This type of thing happens a lot. Established artists take current fans to new genres, and people who are already in that genre might give it a listen. Cassie, you do remember that we've already done the chant thing many years ago with the Monks of "someplace?. It was fairly popular for a while. Classical musicians were getting a kick out of neophytes "grooving" on it. It was new to them, but really very old. 8-) 8-)

Is there something going on with Twitter? When I check in on my PC I had an over capacity notice but for 2 days have not been able to "see" any of Adam's tweets if I select from the RSS feed. I can see his page and background but the section on tweets and the following, members etc section are just two big blank spaces when I try to access from my feeds. If I select from the list of "following" on my twitter home page I can see everything. The same thing happens for Eber, Neil, Sauli, etc. Have not changed any settings. Just very confusing since I am not a twitter user. Just like to see when someone tweets.

Well established artists can take their fans to new places (several have been mentioned here already) but it can be hazardous even for a very established artist. I remember a rock singer in, I think, the early 80's who did an album of "old music" and pretty much killer her rock career (Linda Ronstadt maybe?) I think I remember that she was wealthy enough that she didn't really care, but she was a huge rock star before and lost her "cred" with that audience.

A couple of questions: What type of Pop/HAC songs do the fans, who are members here, hope to hear on Adam's second album? Instead of wishing for everything from Opera to Broadway to Standards to Cabaret, etc.- what type of Pop songs are you wishing for? Do you want more Dance songs, songs with a little more Rock or a little more R&B flavor, more HAC leaning songs? Other than Adam, :)what other artists are you listening to at this time? How about over the last year? Have your choices in music changed over the past couple of years, or are you basically listening to the same type of music you were listening to BA?(Before Adam)
