A couple of questions: What type of Pop/HAC songs do the fans, who are members here, hope to hear on Adam's second album? Instead of wishing for everything from Opera to Broadway to Standards to Cabaret, etc.- what type of Pop songs are you wishing for? Do you want more Dance songs, songs with a little more Rock or a little more R&B flavor, more HAC leaning songs? Other than Adam, :)what other artists are you listening to at this time? How about over the last year? Have your choices in music changed over the past couple of years, or are you basically listening to the same type of music you were listening to BA?(Before Adam) Good questions. I am not excited by dance or current pop, but will probably enjoy Adam singing it. R&B, funky, Adele-like music would suit me fine. HAC. I like music that is a bit more complex than most current pop--music that requires more of the listener. Currently have been listening to a few singer-songwriter types: Ferras, Mat Kearney, Michael Johnson. Also, Keane, Muse, Robert Plant, Nikka Costa, Chris Botti, Thievery Corporation, Earth, Wind & Fire, Diana Krall. A variety, I guess (just looked at my iTunes playlists). Definitely I'm listening to different music because of my interest in Adam (a few of his favorites are listed above). I am one of those people who wasn't listening a whole lot to much music. NPR news was my car radio choice. So I'm one of the "music again" fans. I'm having fun discovering new music--but not generally pop. However, I regularly check out what is selling on iTunes just to be familiar with it. That helps when my students at school realize I know what they are listening to and talking about. Music teacher cred. ;D

Have your choices in music changed over the past couple of years, or are you basically listening to the same type of music you were listening to BA?(Before Adam) Great questions! Well, as far as Adam's album, I'd love sexy pop songs a la Natalia Kills. Her album is amazing, and a song like Mirrors would be awesome, although it gets into the whole-- 'is it too sexy to be sung by a man' issue. I'd also love a song like Adele's Rolling in the Deep. Something like Eminem/Rihanna Love The Way You Lie (duet with a female hiphop artist) would be very cool. I think P!nk-style songs would be great for him-- like Please Don't Leave Me. And I'm also in love with a new-to-me band, The Parlotones. They're South African, and classified as indie/alt, but one review called it "intellectual dance music" LOL. Here's a good example: And yeah, my musical taste has definitely expanded, BA. I've always liked some pop music, but I've discovered lots of artists that I love, directly or indirectly through Adam-- Sia, Scissors Sisters, Rihanna, (some) Jessie J, etc. I loved Gaga before Adam, and I really love her latest album. Songs like that for Adam would make me happy, too.

Agreed. I also think Adam is such a talent and can become such a force that if he decided to do Gregorian Chant, many of his fans would be pulled in and other non-fans would give it a try. This type of thing happens a lot. Established artists take current fans to new genres, and people who are already in that genre might give it a listen. Cassie, you do remember that we've already done the chant thing many years ago with the Monks of ???. It was fairly popular for a while. Classical musicians were getting a kick out of neophytes "grooving" on it. It was new to them, but really very old. 8-) 8-) Ugh, I hated Gregorian Chant! Well established artists can take their fans to new places (several have been mentioned here already) but it can be hazardous even for a very established artist. I remember a rock singer in, I think, the early 80's who did an album of "old music" and pretty much killer her rock career (Linda Ronstadt maybe?) I think I remember that she was wealthy enough that she didn't really care, but she was a huge rock star before and lost her "cred" with that audience. Good point. There are times when it doesn't work at all. Some people just are not able to cross over to other genres effectively (not all are blessed with that gift that Adam has in spades).

tigerlily, what a fantastic question! I would like to hear more dance/electronic songs with hard, driving beats. Chunkey81 had mentioned how great a collaboration with Pharrell (N.E.R.D. / Neptunes) would be and I agreed with her. I would love for him to produce something for Adam. I would also like songs with lyrics that challenge the listener. Something unexpected. The best recent example I can come up with is Foster The Peoples "Pumped up kicks". While the message in the song is dark and depressing, musically it's upbeat and fun. It's such a contradiction and I love that. I listen to whatever suits my mood, but it has to be upbeat. I don't like slow music or ballads. Once in a while a ballad will resonate with me, but for the most part I won't listen to them. Foster The People has been the soundtrack of my summer, but I also find myself listening to Ima Robot quite a bit lately.

Thanks ! www.bit.ly/q5JYDD52 minutes ago in reply to ↑ @leecherry Lee Cherry @scorpios4adam I'm pretty sure it was Costa Mesa.10 minutes ago I've seen comments on twitter from people who attended the Costa Mesa show that this is indeed from there. But there were no green wristbands at Costa Mesa. Were there? I thought it was CM, the first time I saw it, but couldn't figure out the wristbands.

I found my daughter and I in the picture.

In the interest of giving poor Mszue a break (and all those who took any 5 words out of her posts and argued about those get a break too) I'll try redirecting the career advice section of this blog, I want to suggest that Adam could really have a future as an ITT Technician and here is why:
We all dream of spending a couple of hours with him. Well I have never seen a computer technician spend less than that to fix my problems - so that would work out well. I would not complain at all. Would gladly spend the inflated hourly technician rates - hey, many of us gladly paid 175 USD for 30 seconds...that would be some hourly rate if you think about it. He clearly would make millions every year.
Now I understand that not every technician serenades while working, but at this rate we could ask for a bit of that, I'm sure. No you do not get to receive other services while the disc scans and other IT tools of the trade are humming away, Adam is taken, and anyway...what a bunch of dirty minds here - tz.....
Adam always said he wanted to go into a more electronic direction - so ITT -Tech, here we go. Adam wanted to work with people - ITT - Tech, here we go. Adam wanted to have a bunch of dimmers - the perfect career to fulfill such a dream.
So when you are all done arguing about Adam's future in opera, Gregorian chant, hip-hop, standards and jazz I can now look forward to an engaging debate about the pros and cons of Adam's prospects in this field, can I - can I?
please........
