This is a bit O/T but I file it under the headline "WTF is going on with RCA and Kelly?"
So Kelly has her new single out. It has been sent to radio and goes on sale 9/5/11. She did Elvis and Ryan's shows this morning. And not she is headed off to promote her new single --- in Australia??? (Is there something big going on is AU that is motivating this trip?)
I do not detect a lot of enthusiasm from RCA about Kelly's single or upcoming album. Since it is likely to be her last album with them (she sounded pretty bitter about the past on Elvis today), it is not completely surprising.
I hope/expect Adam to be treated much better.
ETA: I read a report on another blog site and did not check it out. Made no sense that she would be heading to AU now -- and she is not. My apologies!!!

OT but something fun while we wait for more Adam news! "It seems that today's tech-obsessed culture will do anything they can to avoid interacting face-to-face! So singer Elliott Yamin helped us adjust the classic Stevie Wonder love song "I Just Called To Say I Love You" and update it with a more modern twist." I Just Texted to Say I Love You Vocals by Elliott Yamin ("American Idol") awww... so true  haven't all of us with teens have texted to each other while sitting in the same room? Come to think about it - during the NYC Nokia GNT time I had about 10 Glamberts at my place, all partying, being silly AND talking to each other by posting on TheSSG (my other site) - all women of certain age ;D ...so, we are all affected... but you know - it used to be one had to" write" or "see" in order to proclaim love, then "call" became normal...now it's "text-tweet-whatever"...what's next? "implant-to-implant transmission"? - all great! I love Elliot's voice! it is so "warm"...I don't know much about what he's been doing after AI... hope he is successful... houselady - thank you - it was fun! I e-mailed the link to my kids  |

I just saw on Yahoo.com that Penneys apologized for the offensive shirt that harkened back to 1950s mentality on women that they were hawking the other day. I have a much younger stepsister who is very pretty, very smart, very athletic, and very pissed that a bunch of middle aged executives (remind you of anyone?) would presume to denigrate females on a shirt that is part of a collection they call CUTE AND SASSY. Did you see the Michelle Collins "Best Week Ever" comment/spoof that she posted and was posted here yesterday? I honestly don't understand what you're saying here. Why is it not surprising? Does it matter that this is going to be her last album with them? Since for now they own her, wouldn't they want to make as much money as possible ? Sorry I don't know anything about music business but I go with my logic here. |

That does seem a bit odd, I guess she must have banged out all the big radio interviews already and is free? I think this must have been planned for awhile though, since IIRC the first people that leaked about hearing Kelly's single MKIA were from some Australian outlet. And not that long ago they had Carrie doing an Australian radio tour too. Maybe after Adam did so well down there, they decided that with some extra promotion that country could be a nice revenue stream? Although I'm sure Kelly was already gonna sell tons there, maybe they're just hoping to maximize it. ETA: Oooh I'm curious what she said on Elvis that sounded bitter, it's seemed like she was careful in her chat with fans the other day to be really positive about things. |

I haven't followed the behind the scenes Kelly stuff since her big blow out with Clive Davis over My December. Does she have a bad relationship with RCA? Is it because of the Clive stuff or other things? I am confused as to if she has strained ties with them and thus why you think they have been giving her the shaft or if they are just dicking around with her because this is her last album and because they are dicks. LOL. Yeah going off the AU rn seems odd but maybe we don't know the full story? IDK, like I said I just enjoy Kelly's music and think she is a cool chick but I don't follow her like a stan or anything. |

He discusses each track, his vision for FYE, etc. Nothing new and I'm sure you've all seen this, fun to look back and Adam is so relaxed and totally himself (like I know that from personal experience.)

Kelly did a bunch of radio promo yesterday (a total of like 10+ radio interviews just yesterday and more coming up today and probably through the week ramping up for her new single which everyone seems to love btw) and she goes to Australia following the iheartradio music festival which happens 9/23 so she's not leaving today or anything like that. The reason she's probably going to Australia is because she's much more successful in Australia than in the U.S. She's played to crowds of over 20K+ there while on tour. Did you hear another Elvis Duran interview because I just listened to her interview with him from yesterday and she didn't even mention the past ??? I'd be curious what kind of enthusiasm you'd be able to detect from RCA? The promo just officially started with the webcast release of her single. and are you insinuating that RCA isn't excited because this is album #5 and could be her last one with them? Kelly is one of RCA biggest artists and has sold 20+ million albums for them; so if you perceive they are treating her poorly then you probably shouldn't expect/hope that they will treat Adam any better IMO. Personally, I think RCA treats all of their artists like crap. They seem to do the bare minimum when it comes to promo both for singles and for albums. It's usually through the artists own hardwork that they are able to find above average success. Q3 comment: I read an incorrect post on another blog site that she was head to AU from LA. Apparently someone misunderstand her interview with Ryan today. I did not hear that interview -- and the poster was incorrect. Posted a comment on my post above. Sorry for not checking the schedule. |

A little OT but, this morning in the mail I received a card from AT&T mobile explaining how they were now giving me FREE mobile to any mobile calling and then when I checked email just a minute ago there was a message from Time Warner Cable that they were increasing my internet speed for FREE and all I had to do was reboot my modem; both claimed it was for being a good customer. Here is my dilemma, I want to be happy but all I really feel is a little paranoid. Cynically I am just looking for the hidden catch. I think I will meditate and try to find my inner child who can appreciate the simple existence of good fortune, or better yet go watch the Burning Man stream.  ???  ;D |
