Well, Adam won't be on Idol next week....they're going to Nashville and Carrie Underwood is the mentor and she's plugging her new song. Tonite Catie and Jurnee went home.
Kris Allen is going on the summer tour with the top 7.

I'm needing help understanding the riff mistake thing.I'm not really seeing it as an Adam blunder. I have to admit I was really looking forward to this duet and it didn't pull off the way I had hoped it would, at least not in the videos that we're seeing. Does Melissa say "oh Adam" because Adam forgot or messed up his part? I sure hope not. Really hoping a clean full video will surface.

Have we discovered where his suit is from? I really like that suit lol.
As for Idol, I read it was Prince night....who was the mentor for that? Just curious, not watching.

I've come to the conclusion that this song didn't really lend itself to being sung as a duet. They didn't spend a whole lot of time on preparing how it would be sung, at least in my opinion. None of what I say is an excuse. Adam's voice was gorgeous, as usual. And Melissa gave it all her gritty soulfulness. It just kind of turned into a belting battle with some awkward rough riffing spots. The message of the song got lost a little, I think. I'd love to hear them sing something else together that they spend some time on, maybe something with some well-crafted harmonies that show off both their voices. I'm not really familiar with Melissa's songs, but I'll bet she has a few that would really bring out the best in both of them.

I have to believe that Adam's night on Idol (I assume there will be one) will be announced during his Kelly/Ryan interview. Not too many episodes left, correct?

Does Melissa say "oh Adam" because Adam forgot or messed up his part? I sure hope not. Really hoping a clean full video will surface. I am not seeing it as a blunder either. Adam is. He said he fumbled it. I would not have noticed it. But, he, being the perfectionist, and knowing what he had intended to sing, found it lacking. IMO, the "Oh, Adam" was not because he messed up, as the "fumble" occurs after that, I think. I think it is an expression of fun and pleasure at how he is ripping up her song. As far as the performance, they looked to be having a great time singing together. It seemed like a jam session rather than a prepared rendition. I assume that was the feeling they wanted? Something joyful and off the cuff? "Adam, you sing the melody here and I'll just throw in some kind of harmony, okay?" I didn't care for it. I thought Adam's voice sounded strained or forced on those B4s and C5s. Also, slightly, slightly flat on the C5s. Very unusual for Adam. The harmonies were a little muddy. Adam is usually so good at creating an emotional arc to a song, and this one just plowed thru the chorus repeatedly at the same intensity, belting it out. I do love it when Adam sings something bluesy, but this one will not make my playlist.

Not sure how they'll divide up the finale....so it's then or not at all. Can't remember which two nites around May 21.
