What is the consensus here, are they in Burning Man or not? Together? Or just going there for the weekend? Or what? Not sure if it's a consensus, but my guess would be that they are headed there today, for the weekend. I hope so anyway!

OK, there are TONS of songs I'd like to hear Adam sing if we were to totally ignore his interests! I really want to hear him sing a classical aria - preferably Oratorio since I prefer that to Opera - but I would take nearly anything. How about "Sound an Alarm" from Handel's Judas Maccabeus (has the advantage of being more Jewish than Christian!) Or "If with All Your Hearts" from Mendelson's Elijah? For those not familiar with Oratorios (think long works with choir & soloist - best known 1 is Messiah), each of these recordings starts with a recititive (the singer is advancing the "story" by singing something similar to narration) and then moves directly into the aria. Warning - If with All Your Hearts is an ear worm Thanks for posting. Oh, yes, Adam could so sing those, and sing them well. His voice could fit perfectly, with surprisingly little change in technique. I know it is not most people's cuppa, (and not his either), but he certainly would blow some minds if he ever did sing something like this.

About the only scenario would be one of those PBS specials where a classical star has a pop star on to liven up the show and try to make it more popular. What would be cool there is that usually the pop star sings like crap and Adam would blow all the classical fans away by being able to truly sing. (To be honest, the classical stars usually sound pretty bad trying to do pop music also!)

As for Kelly's new song, I kind of like it, and that's only because it doesn't sound like Kelly. I mean she does have a good voice, but I can' never get into her songs, or her voice, her tone or something just grates, irritates me.
I mean I liked her well enough on idol, but then again her voice was always so warbly, as in too strong of a vibrato or something, not smooth enough for me. It's not as bad as Jessie J's or Beyonce's voice, mind you, where you can barely hear a smooth note or word.
But her singles? I don't know, her voice just sounds very vacant or hollow or something, which leaves me feeling really cold, so I always bi-pas her songs whenever they come up on radio.
Sorry for you kelly lovers, this is jmo, and probably don't make a lot of sense...

OT.
I remember earlier, around the time that OoL debuted, either on this blog or another, where we were talking about cliched/bad lyrics in songs and compared and contrasted them with some of the songs that Adam has written, and saying that he was not as good of a songwriter etc..
And was just listening to radio, and Moves like Jagger came on, dont' know if it's just me but that song seems to be littered with cliche lyrics, and even though I love Adele's Someone Like You, it has it's share of a few cliched lyrics in there too, I think part of the reason that makes us forget the cliche, or wash over them, is because of how they are sung, or the melody or something.

I know Kelly has a great voice but she leaves me completely cold and always has. I really don't know why. I have never connected with any of her music and this new song is no exception. Sounds like it might be a hit though, so good for her.
