OT. I remember earlier, around the time that OoL debuted, either on this blog or another, where we were talking about cliched/bad lyrics in songs and compared and contrasted them with some of the songs that Adam has written, and saying that he was not as good of a songwriter etc.. So yeah, before people start classifying Adam's ability as a songwriter, they might learn a little about the discipline. Yeah, I may be remembering a different discussion, but I know some people didn't like the "ether" lyric from the twitter party. I think Adam is really good with lyrics. My only "advice" (LOL) to him would be that less is more sometimes. He gets kind of wordy (ex: Aftermath) where he could use one word and fit the beat better than where he's put two words. I think that comes with practice, just like writing succinct business letters. ( And learning to post comments that come across the way you intend so they are not misconstued - that's an art, too IMHO) 8-) |

My radio station in Toronto is already spinning Kelly's single. I hope that Adam gets the same response as well, however I do think that your name gets you spins sometimes. I can't stand her new single and the title of it is the cheesiest thing ever. YMMV, etc. etc. I love Kelly but I am not really into her new song. I mean it's decent, reasonably catchy but overall it's just aight for me dawg. I guess since she was gone for so long I was hoping she would come back with some, oh I dunno, more bombastic, in your face, more WOAH kind of song. But then again she is apparently going in a new direction this album and I am sure she will have songs on it that will be mah jams...so I ain't mad. Kelly always comes out with a bombastic, in your face, more WOAH kind of song as her lead single (Miss Independent, SUBG, Never Again, MLWSWY). I think that's what makes this one so interesting. it's very different than all her other lead singles. It showcases her voice, which I love, and it's so freakin catchy, probably more catchy than any other song she's released to date IMO. No, I think you're correct but I don't judge songs based on who wrote it or other songs they might have written. I judge based on whether I like that particular song and I love MKIA. I hope Adam's first single is as catchy. It's kind of funny because idol stable writers don't become idol stable writers until they write a song that becomes a hit. I do agree that if #2 does really well he will likely enter that club of artists (not just from Idol) who get radio play just based on their names but if that happens I hope he doesn't go the bruno mars route and just churn out crap just cuz he knows it will get played regardless. Yes, I hate that song about being lazy SFM I could punch something when I hear it. |

I have never been a fan of most of the bands that Adam has recommended, but the Foster the People album is definitely my new jams...that whole album is sooooo good! I am also going to see them live when they come through Las Vegas on 10/20!  |

Paper--I don't hope he goes all Bruno Marsian on us too. But then again that's more the PD's fault for playing the same song 10000000000000 times a day. Oh and add me to the list of ppl who love Kelly's voice. But srsly, I cannot get over I Love You This Big. I'm sorry. I am trying not to be judgey judge here but...so...god...damn....hard. LOL. But yeah it's EONS better than Scotty's song.
On another kinda OT but not really note...I just got home and in the car was listening to my Sisius XM radio and they must have been playing some Labor Day or end of summer countdown and they were playing Avril's new song 'Smile' and the DJ announced that Avril will soon be appearing in a show called Majors and Minors with other stars like Jordin Sparks and....

I lol'd so hard. Yeeeeah unless I didn't get the memo, it's LAMBERT who is gonna be in the show. A+++ job of fact checking their radio staff. LOL. I wonder if those two won't continue to be mized up for one another in the future?
