Opps --- that would be 4 singles from her first album -- I will go fix my original post! They are: "I Kissed a Girl" - #1 for 7 weeks - she took a huge career risk and it paid off. "Hot n Cold" - peak#3 "Thinking of You" - peak #29 "Waking Up in Vegas" - peak #9 Second album --- five #1's in a row: "California Gurls" (featuring Snoop Dogg) "Teenage Dream" "Firework" "E.T." (featuring Kanye West) "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" ETA: 5 consecutive #1 singles from one album, Perry became the first woman and only the second artist (behind Michael Jackson and his album, Bad) to accomplish this.to tell you the truth - this scares me... obviously I want Adam's singles to climb to #1 or as close as possible, but I can't imagine him coming out with the type of stuff KP does... Katy does what she does well. She has radio friendly songs that are catchy as hell and she has fun videos that support these songs. She knows how to write songs that people love to sing along to. Adam's singles off his first album were the same "type of stuff" that KP releases as singles off of her albums. FYE, WWFM and IIHY weren't exactly lyrical masterpieces. They were songs that were written and released in an effort to get radio play on Pop radio. I imagine we will see the same type of pop-friendly lyrics and production on Adam's next CD.

I found this on youTube by accident. Too much time on my hands since I have decided not to dust, mop or clean a toilet this week. : Seriously, Adam did you lose your phone??????? No tweets??????? No shopping or walking to your car looking HOT????????? Whoops........you have a life and not here for my entertainment :( Adam is not singing, he is dancing, and......this sweet fan says it is her first mash-up so be kind. I thought it was sweet. So I am going to share. Feel free to scroll right past this post because Adam is NOT singing, but, Adam is doing what ONLY Adam can do. All other male dancers eat your heart out ;D ;D

awww... momtomany, you make me cry. I do have a question re. this passage: What can burn will burn. The exquisite photos of the dragon eating its tail; the twisted flower; the lighthouse; the geodesic dome of umbrellas; the cosmic clock - - they are now memories. I've devoured (and right-clicked-saved) so many BMan pics from the links that have been posted, but I don't remember seeing these pics that you described. At least I don't think so. Can you direct me to photos of these things? And if someone at BMan had seen one of these marvelous pieces of work... like, say, the dragon or the twisted flower, and really REALLY wanted to keep it/buy it... would that be possible? Do all these things * have to burn*, or can people take them away at the end? And were there really "all ages"? Were there lots of older folks attending BMan? And how many medical stations were there altogether? And what kind of hours did you work? Did you have a set shift every day? (like a 9-5 shift?) And what did you and DH do for your meals? Did you take an RV and cook meals for yourselves every day? Anyhow, if I can think of more questions I'll post them later!

momtomany ALL your posts are always so eloquent and articulate and brimming over with the joy of life, but your BM posts have been exquisite and a thing of joy. Thank you so much for sharing so much of YOU with us all. And yeah I'd also love to know the answers to all of seoulmate's questions too! Is there a Burning Man 'checklist' of things to do in advance and things to take? Curiosity is the Catz right now

Did you take an RV and cook meals for yourselves every day? Anyhow, if I can think of more questions I'll post them later! Thank you! I just can't sleep yet - so I am overjoyed to have some questions about the place that is still overwhelming me. I have some great descriptions of the displays I mentioned; including their creators. I'll find my notes and send you the information! Burning Man had an 'Art Tours' station, and we were able to spend an afternoon on a mutant vehicle with a docent - learned so much! All art done in wood is meant to be burned. If an artist wishes to preserve his or her creation/inspiration, it needs to be done in another medium. 'Blithe' from last year is going on display at Treasure Island; several of the works from past years can be found along the Embarcadero in SF; and, private 'rentals' of Burning Man art are available for showings. Carlos Santana recently (per the docent) had three on display at his home for a birthday party. Yes, 'all ages' can be found at Burning Man. Certainly, the majority of participants are in the 25-40 age range; but there are many - many - who are 50, 60 and beyond. And, the 'Kids Camp' is growing! They even had a t-shirt made for this year; a cartoon showing a burner with his kid on a skewer over the campfire! No - - - it really was funny! There are 3 medical stations serving the Black Rock City population. They're found at 3, 6, and 9 o'clock on the city map. All are staffed with licensed MDs, RNs, PAs, EMTs. Big deal stuff is sent to Station 6 - also known as 'Rampart' - and serious conditions can be flown to Reno. I feel like 'MASH' when I'm at work. Sometimes I can't believe how innovative I can be, with limited time and resources. Back to basics works! This year, I worked a 12-hour (07-1900) on Sunday; and then 2 eight-hours (07-1530) on Wednesday and Saturday. The time flew by; never a chance to check the clock. As part of Station 9, we were able to secure a 'meal plan'. DH and I paid about $85 each, and received a wonderful, satisfying breakfast and dinner each day. Such a deal! The two people who cooked for us, and served everyone in our Station 9 lounge and bar (affectionately known as the "Pharmacy") have cooked and served for people in war zones, floods, and disasters (such as Katrina, where they received their first experience). Feel free to ask more questions - anytime. Oh, we took a camper this year; one loaned to us from a friend. Small, but all we needed, really, was a place to sleep and brush our teeth. No way was I going to use the toilet/shower in that puppy! Yech! Needless to say, the camper is covered in playa dust; inside and out. Burners really stood out as we drove down I-80 into California - furry hair and dust everywhere!

And Catz - I'm beginning to think I'm spamming the thread! Maybe I'm just about the only one awake . . . it's you and me and seoulmate! Yes - there are helpful Burners who are so willing to let anyone know what to take and what to leave at home. Baby wipes - unscented. They may be the best thing to happen - ever! They serve every need - from wiping a wine glass clean to freshening up when it's day #4 without a shower to washing a face. Ziploc bags - can't have enough! Stuff like Triscuits and olives and pickle slices - that taste good and have salt to keep the water in. That's about it! Oh - and ibuprofen and lip balm . . . . . . . . and hats to shield the sun and caps to keep the head warm in early morning . . . and boots!! Don't bring pretty shoes!! Combat boots and thick sox will protect feet! Believe me, I can't count the people I saw wearing little more than a good pair of boots! That's a start!
