ETA: I can't believe that I need to go back to work this week! Later this week I am flying home to Mississippi and then to Texas. Perhaps the clouds will follow me!! Here's hoping. Wow, it was so great to log on this morning to this site and see all of these nice wishes about Texas. I just got off ALFC where there is a thread going about how Texas "has no Adam fans," "sucks" and is "backwards." The original poster was a child so that is no big deal, but seeing the replies of some of the adults left me in tears. So it was especially nice to see this, here.
The situation is fairly dire and I am sad about my hundreds of neighbors who have been burned out and extremely worried about what the week holds. Thank you for your continued good wishes and for being so nice here. Loved reading about Burning Man.

Wow, it was so great to log on this morning to this site and see all of these nice wishes about Texas. I just got off ALFC where there is a thread going about how Texas "has no Adam fans," "sucks" and is "backwards." The original poster was a child so that is no big deal, but seeing the replies of some of the adults left me in tears. So it was especially nice to see this, here. Thank you for your continued good wishes and for being so nice here. Loved reading about Burning Man. Clearly many people have never actually been to Texas! This may stem from that Lubbock concert??? And/or the fact that there was so much support for Kris from Texas. Or because Texas gave us Rick Perry (please take him back!!) I have heard the same thing about Mississippi and Tennessee. So I do not exist either! I remember how people were posted that Adam should not even go to Memphis, TN during the Idol tour because he would not be safe. And the reception there was huge. There are bigots and haters everywhere, and there are Adam fans everywhere!! ETA: I tried to renew my AFL Membership and that site is so messed up it will not let me buy it!! Maybe I should not renew? I really never go there. Any thoughts on AFL renewals? |

Q3 - I had no trouble at ALF for the "renewal" - but it wasn't really a renewal type setup. I just bought the glitter package (they say you can upgrade later if you want whatever stuff they add for the glam package) and it shows up on my account like a new membership. I even got a "welcome" email which is weird for a "renewal".
I figured I could throw another $10 at Adam (that's hardly a dent in what I've sent his way so far!) and give ALF the benefit of the doubt for 1 more year. If the DON'T manage to improve it and there isn't a clear benefit to belonger, I may be rethinking that next year....
Totally agree the site is a mess. Hopefully the new management will improve it - but I doubt it is top priority right at this moment! Once they get the new era launched, they will hopefully have time to look into it. To be honest, it is probably more important to work with RCA and get the adamofficial site fixed up first. That is where new fans are going to go first.

A couple of thousand people in Lubbock turned out and waited for Adam for hours under horrible conditions, and Adam gave them a great show, and somehow it's a black eye for Texas, not Adam's agent who booked him into that awful venue. We had sold-out shows also in Houston and Dallas. You know ... it probably wouldn't have bothered me except for what has been happening in Texas this weekend with all the fires. Never thought it was too cool to kick someone when they are down. As far as membership renewals, try going directly through the store and just buying one, not going through the renewal e-mail. I like the site because I like to blog and read other people's blogs. Also looking forward to (hopefully) meet and greets and pre-sales when the next tour starts. Seems worth $10 to me. YMMV. |
