Happy Birthday Atop & immeasurable thanks to Q3 for giving us our "home away from home."  Can't imagine life without my friends here.  It's a bee-u-ti-ful day in Houston & surrounding areas! When I sent hubby off to work at 5:00 am (yawn), it was only 62 degrees outside and now it is 72 deg., very low humidity and NO WINDS. Appreciate all the rain dances from all of you; we really need it. Lots of fires around us (a 20-25 mile radius), but, so far, we've been spared. Very thankful. Gotta run; RL calls!

Wow, it was so great to log on this morning to this site and see all of these nice wishes about Texas. I just got off ALFC where there is a thread going about how Texas "has no Adam fans," "sucks" and is "backwards." The original poster was a child so that is no big deal, but seeing the replies of some of the adults left me in tears. So it was especially nice to see this, here. The situation is fairly dire and I am sad about my hundreds of neighbors who have been burned out and extremely worried about what the week holds. Thank you for your continued good wishes and for being so nice here. Loved reading about Burning Man. Clearly many people have never actually been to Texas! This may stem from that Lubbock concert??? And/or the fact that there was so much support for Kris from Texas. Or because Texas gave us Rick Perry (please take him back!!) I have heard the same thing about Mississippi and Tennessee. So I do not exist either! I remember how people were posted that Adam should not even go to Memphis, TN during the Idol tour because he would not be safe. And the reception there was huge. There are bigots and haters everywhere, and there are Adam fans everywhere!! ETA: I tried to renew my AFL Membership and that site is so messed up it will not let me buy it!! Maybe I should not renew? I really never go there. Any thoughts on AFL renewals? AFL membership. I renewed. It's an Adam thing. I couldn't help myself. Rick Perry. We do not want him back, but we also do not want him as President either. I'm hoping his inner homophobia combined with his secret affairs with men (the rumors are true) will bring him down in addition to his horrendous stand on education. If he could just be openly bisexual, maybe he'd love himself a little more and bestow that love on the people he is supposed to be governing. Instead his self-loathing has turned outward and he is an awful man. The fire map this morning looks a little worse than it did last night. Worried, yes I am really worried as one of my favorite places in Texas is likely burnt to a crisp, but no way to really know yet. Q3 - Atop is a balm for the Adam fans that hailed from Planet Fierce, and others too! Thanks for keeping it going. I may not post everyday, but I come here every day for the news and really would be sad if I showed up one morning and it was all gone! For folks who do not believe that Adam has fans in TX, clearly they did not see the vids of the Lubbock, Houston, Dallas and Thackerville (Winstar Casino, right on the border of OK and TX) shows. I did not make it to Lubbock, but the other three were packed, with all kinds of people who were having a good time, having a ball, so don't stop us now, just give us some RAIN! |

Really? Oh, man, that's rich! One thing that I really hate in a politician is hypocrisy. And it does seem to me that the ones who rant the most about the "evil gays" are the ones who later get caught with the pool boy. And I can't help but smirk when it happens. I hope Perry gets exposed for the hypocrite that he is almost as much as I hope Texas gets a nice, cooling rain!

Thanks for those positive thoughts and images directed at Texas. It is depressing as hell to see climatic change in your own lifetime - to see how fast things can change, watching large oak trees that have stood a hundred years turn brown and die, acorns for squirrels, leaves for converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, temperature lowering shade, all gone with it. Blaming over-development and de-forestation in the area for increasing temperatures, making high pressure domes develop easier, which keeps rain away. We need all the rain dances we can get! Welcome roro! Sending rainy thoughts to the universe! |

Perry, a closeted bi-sexual? This is one time that I think I would have to see a sex tape. Until then, I think I will stick to conservative, homophobic, cronyistic politician. The only thing really good about Perry is that he is not Bachmann. Oops, are my politics showing through ... I will try not to let it happen again on this thread. Sorry.
