Kelly is doing promo in Germany already!! Of course, with how fast her single got added, I guess her US promo can be done for a few weeks! : kelly_clarksonKelly Clarkson Hanging out in Germany going to different radio stations to promote my new single "Mr. Know it all" ....every time I... say.ly/kHLGlTshe did all the radio promo here in the US last week. MKIA was the most added song last week (and it's not even gone for official adds yet) and has breached the top 40 (at #38) on Pop radio already. It's also #4 on itunes overall. I expect it will be the same promo-wise for Adam. He will do the initial radio promo here and then head overseas to also promote the new material. Kelly and Adam are the only two idols have must make this type of effort because they really are the only two with significant enough fanbases outside the U.S. to make it worthwhile for RCA to promote them internationally. Melvin is the nickname of Adam's facial hair on various LJ communities.

Millions and millions of indigenous people living in hot, arid, dusty climates live their entire lives without daily showers and "survive" just fine. We're just spoiled first world types That's right, and it's what some of us are used to. It all comes down to one's personal comfort level. If I go more than 24 hours without a shower, I start getting a mild panic attack. Years ago, people in this country didn't take daily showers. I remember my grandparents taking baths on Wednesdays and Saturdays (Sat. was also the day to wash your hair), so they would be clean for church services. My mom went to have her hair washed and styled every Friday. Now, she showers and blows her hair dry everyday. Most people in the US have become accustomed to a certain level of cleanliness.

They don't throw overseas promo tours together in a couple of days. Yes, radio did seem to jump on Kelly's new song. Why wouldn't they? She has a proven track record of producing pop hits for the past nine years. Radio missed KC and they are excited she is back. That's the point you get to after a decade of producing hit after hit.

My mom went to have her hair washed and styled every Friday. Now, she showers and blows her hair dry everyday. Most people in the US have become accustomed to a certain level of cleanliness. This level of cleanliness is post World War II. For some of my writing I have done a lot of research into early America. Back in, say, the Founding Fathers' time, people really didn't wash their bodies at all. When you said you "bathed," you just meant you washed your face and hands. Lewis & Clark noticed that the Indians were always running down and jumping in rivers to get clean, and thought it was funny. People just smelled really strong and didn't think a thing of it, any more than you would judge a horse or a cow for smelling strong. Also, there was no shampoo. People did wash their hair simply with water, and their hair looked clean and fluffy. It just smelled. Our world is considerably more free of smells than our forebears could have imagined. Something to bear in mind if time travel is ever invented!

Anyway, I figure if he went clothes-shopping for Burning Man, he had to have bought something new, right? Everything else we've seen looks familiar. As for the showering in the desert thing, we all definitely have OTT levels of cleanliness these days. Going without showers would be the hardest thing for me, but I can actually imagine doing okay as long as I had a million baby wipes. What is more worrisome is how one keeps your hair clean? I can't imagine not washing my hair for a week!!!! The horror! I remember a line from Seinfeld when Elaine said her hair was so clean you could eat off of it. That's me, lol.

What a phenomenal treat to see so many pages...WITH PICTURES .. first thing in the morning! WOW For those of us considering BM next year...I think the decision has to be made to either grow the hair so it can go in a ponytail....or have a 'finger' cut and just ignore the whole issue!

Dry shampoo comes in colors now. Baby powder or talc works for blonds. Then there are scarves, do-rags, & hats. In the 2006 BM pics, Adam's long blond hair is braided. I did my 3 year old daughter's long hair in a million braids like that for a camping trip with grandparents & cousins. MIL remarked several times that she was so happy she didn't have to deal with the hair.
