Millions and millions of indigenous people living in hot, arid, dusty climates live their entire lives without daily showers and "survive" just fine. We're just spoiled first world types On a scale of 1-10 we (many of us) may be a 9 and those indigenous people living in hot, arid climates may be a 1 on a fortunate scope, but showers and regular meals don’t equate with spoiled to me. That starts with 3 cars, 3 TVs, every electronic gadget known to man, and turning a blind eye to the needs of those less fortunate. I think we celebrate Adam and his success, along with what he can buy with his hard-earned money, because he does appreciate it and does help those less fortunate. To me, attitude plays a huge part in defining spoiled. Justin Timberlake and Reese Witherspoon do not seem spoiled, Kanye and Paris Hilton do, in my casual observation. SHOGAN by James Clavell was historically interesting in reference to the cleanliness habits of Europeans at the time. One of my favorite books.

These pants are definitely not the leggings in other pics, IMO. Anyway, I figure if he went clothes-shopping for Burning Man, he had to have bought something new, right? Everything else we've seen looks familiar. As for the showering in the desert thing, we all definitely have OTT levels of cleanliness these days. Going without showers would be the hardest thing for me, but I can actually imagine doing okay as long as I had a million baby wipes. What is more worrisome is how one keeps your hair clean? I can't imagine not washing my hair for a week!!!! The horror! I remember a line from Seinfeld when Elaine said her hair was so clean you could eat off of it. That's me, lol. Dry shampoo comes in colors now. Baby powder or talc works for blonds. Then there are scarves, do-rags, & hats. In the 2006 BM pics, Adam's long blond hair is braided. I did my 3 year old daughter's long hair in a million braids like that for a camping trip with grandparents & cousins. MIL remarked several times that she was so happy she didn't have to deal with the hair. .4 msrmyn....is my mind that easy to read???!! I just commented in the BM thread that my contribution could be dry shampoos or haircuts....:-)

Yes! I love your analysis/comparison. Love both Reese and Justin too. Speaking of Reese, she got hit by a car last night while out jogging in Santa Monica, went to the hospital, but is fine and is home resting. Scary!

Going off to look... ETA Found it and, yeah, short hair cuts + dry shampoo and the other stuff. I wonder whether static is a problem. Clothes dryer sheets rubbed on hair (or clothes) will cut static.

No one said anything about this! momtomany was his neighbor! She was camping at 9 0'clock!Someone asked about the people in the photo. That is Johnny Cota right next to Adam and then Roxy. Don't know who the other 3 are but I would guess that Roxy and Johnny were the other 2 on the plane with them. Sounds like they might have left Sunday, since Sauli said the Man was burned on the last night. That would have been Saturday night. Oh, and the airport crash he mentioned was Santa Monica Airport. The crash was on Monday, so it looks like they went to BM on Tuesday. Sounds logical, except that you can only fit three people plus the pilot in a plane as small as Sauli describes. I've done a flying lesson in a Cessna and some of the planes are like Volkswagen Beetles with wings. They are seriously that small. And forget luggage. They would have had to plan for someone else to drive an RV up with their stuff. (You can barely fit a purse in the additional space and maybe one suitcase each in the cargo hold, IIRC.) Soooo the question is – does Johnny or Roxy have a pilot's license? Or did the group break up and take two planes and rendezvous with someone with an RV who brought all the water/clothing/food/supplies for each of them? Anyway, BLESS the pilot that got them there and back safely. *tosses roses at their feet* And as far as the exodus, maybe they drove back to Reno and flew from there? OR the landing strip had a wait that long? OR you still had to get out of the grounds to get to the landing strip ...? I LOVE that pic in the back of the truck. Sauli's body .. UUUUNNNNFFFF Adam looks hot and fierce and happy. Double UUUUNNNNNFFFFFF!!!!

Excitement plus with these 4 photos... imagine the times they had!!!! and we didn't have to wait for days Good call on the red pants!!! Was noticing the guy beside Roxy on the left does not have the huge gauges in his ears like Cota has, so not so sure it is him....and the guy on the right is the same man that was in the video with Adam first meeting Pink in the parkade, and he also went to the Prince concert with Sauli and mom.

I spent a week in Mexico once and got my hair braided so I wouldn't have to deal with it. It was very nice. You could use alcohol wipes to clean your scalp. When I showered, I just used my fingers to soap it. Got a tad itchy, but much better than having to try to tame my hair for a week at the beach.

Cassie thanks for the Angelina interview loved listening to her analysis of Adam over the years.. The 10,000 hours of practice to get to this point is amazing had no idea what it takes to be that good. The 10,000 hours of practice is something I have heard before, and been impressed with. They say 10,000 hours over 10 years. That computes to 1000 hours per year. You would need to practice 2.75 hours per day, 365 days per year to amass that. Or, if you practiced only 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year, we are talking about 4 hours per day. And we are talking about PRACTICE, not just playing thru or singing thru pieces for fun. Not just playing pick up basketball games. (tho those things do help..... you get more benefit from calculated, focused practice). Very few people pursuing any skill have the determination, discipline, and passion to keep at it that long with that intensity. Those few who do we label as "naturally gifted" or "naturally talented" or "born that way." We label their skill as effortless. Boy, do we have that wrong! And people say that Adam is not a true musician because he doesn't play an instrument!!!! Well, I am very glad that he focused all those 10,000 hours on his vocal instrument. The results are stunning!
