@rainierstar: Such a great interview w Adam if u haven't seen it, from just a few months ago. @ 7:00 he talks about coming down off of the shows into real life, kind of what he's doing now. As a fan I too understand that drop in energy he's talking about after the shows www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxCUD0h9T5M&t=264sGreat interview indeed. I would love to see it posted on tomorrow's front page.

It's great to see that people who are a bit later to the news seem to have a more reasonable perspective on things (or at least that's how people bring it both here and on twitter). It's always easier to give a more well thought over reaction when you have had some time to think about it and also saw other peoples reactions already. Being the first to respond with almost no background info is always a bit tricky, but it's fun most of the times. And be glad some people are still passionate about Adam. Else it would be super boring here.
To me this performance is all about promo for the movie and who can do better promo for it than Brian and Roger themselves with Adam? I think the tribute became second hand when it became clear that Brian/Roger and/or Adam weren't available to perform.
So I guess the promo team for the movie went to the AMA's and said: we want to do promo for the movie and we can provide the cast to announce it. Sadly Queen themselves plus their current lead singer is unavailable can't perform. Do you have another option? Well PATD is nominated for something. They can do a good Bohemian Rhapsody. Why don't we let them do a tribute instead?
I think it's not bad to let the AMA's know that there are people who know Queen is still performing with Adam Lambert. If we don't they will never think of him at all. It's all about the money as some say and if no-one is interested you don't book the artist. Staying reasonable though is not easy for some people I know, but saying nothing at all won't help Adam either.

It seems to me that Brian and Roger won't be attending AMA's at all and I do think it is more a tribute to the band and thus different from them getting an Award like it was with MTV EMA. I don't mind Panic doing the tribute and Brendan is a fan of Adam himself he mentioned that somewhere. I do wonder if Queen will be busy in the UK as there are a lots of things around the movie premiere. I wonder if Adam's schedule is full to per Shos' tweet that he might not have time to go AMA at all. It is more about the movie and I'm glad they asked the actors to present - than it is about what Queen is doing nowdays anyway. Beside the preparations for the promo of new music and the " wrapping-up" of the album Adam might have a lot of things going on we have no idea about ( as usual) - we get bread crumbs like the NBC event. Adam had multiple Suspicious Minds versions on his playlist too- preparing for this Elvis tv event might be the reason not only Vegas? Whatever song he covers I can't wait to see it on TV. The more big names they gather for this - more people will watch which is always a good thing.

I have a feeling Adam is staying away from the movie promo = I donโt expect to see him in any of the related events...

One post resonated with me strongly. It was the one that gave a perspective on success. I think it helps channel our passion.

skaschep I saw your tweet to the AMAs and I thought it was very good. I think it is good to let them know that Adam has superfans out there!

Ok. I may or may not know what next week's taping is about. I have it on really good authority from a very close and reliable source that it may have something to do with Elvis, some kind of tribute. Not totally certain but I know that Adam has done or will be doing something for television about Elvis and to add, it was his idea to do Heartbreak Hotel for the QAL shows. Please do not share this on other sites or twitter. I may do that myself but not sure if or when yet. Thank you. You know those who post on other sites and folks that donโt post here lurk right? ๐ An Elvis tribute will fit right in with all the other tributes and throwbacks Adam has done. Iโm so fucking past ready for his own music that this just pisses me off more than excites me. My stanning days may be over.
I know the feeling....but just when you think you're drifting away a bit, he'll do something so vocally wonderful that you fall right back into the old routine...
Happens to me all the time.
