Shall we wear the 'cone of shame'??? All I know, is I have no desire to feel 'squicky', so I'll find the beat I dance best to. Gotta song in mind? ;D Awww, Vivlite, you are loved here and not alone! (in the Aftermath...) Your post last night made me sad and I'm so glad you are still here. To everyone else, I respectfully suggest that people please be allowed to share their feelings w/out judgment or chiding. This is supposed to be a safe place as long as there are no personal attacks yes? If it's a feeling that aggravates your own balance (too sad, too chipper), quickly scroll. I say this gently but saying that one is 'not judging feelings BUT...' is often a lead-int o explaining why sad/frustrated/angry people are illogical (or not committed enough or too committed). Feelings need to be felt to be processed and it would be nice if this remains a place where friends can also share those w/out being judged. Who else do people have to talk about Adam fandom with? And it does take time. Many of us who make no claim to understanding music biz have been told forever by people who profess to know the industry that missing the holiday season and getting pushed back were BAD things for an album and for Adam. So, for me, it understandable fans would be upset FOR ADAM in the absence of clarifying information. IMO, the upset folks are more concerned for Adam and what the hell's going on than their own need for more music. People ARE working this out but why not give them a little time (at least a FEW DAYS) and a little space to share. I feel sad to see people shamed into lurking for being 'negative nellies'. Understand if you want to be among people feeling more positive but perhaps one could do it w/out chiding or stalking away. Atop has provided a stable, safe and loving place for a lot of diverse souls - can't we just be kind and patient with each other (even if we don't always fully get each other) during this bumpy time? I know tl:dr and I'm in trouble for being late to work so those offended by me can be assured punishments will be in the offing . Thanks, Mika! Totally agree with your post. We are human beings. We have emotions. We are constantly processing. A friendly ear is all I ask. We are here because we are drawn to Adam, for whatever reasons. None of us stan the same way, but that doesn't mean we are not 'good' fans. The ability to be kind to one another is the greatest gift and asset we have.

cookie - I love your post I stayed away from here and twitter yesterday. I was hoping it was OK to come back today - not sure yet, I may wait another day or two if things start to upset me. I just wanted to comment about corporate upheavel and how it affects projects. I spent about 10 years working at a couple large companies. I went through 3 "reorganizations" in that time. One was an internal thing - the "powers that be" at the company decided radical change was needed and made major changes to the structure of the departments and such. One was our company buying another company of about the same size and having to "merge" the two together and the last was our company being bought by a MUCH bigger company (Siemens). Each and every one of these caused massive upheaval and projects (major and minor) ended up delayed. Even when the whole mess started with management talking about how we would still be gettting the job done and all deadlines would be met - it NEVER happened. EVERY re-org led to delays. It even led to delays in projects with outside contractors - because they couldn't always get the information/feedback/approvals they needed to get their stuff done on time. For all we know, Adam has experienced delays of this type in getting his part done AND RCA has their own internal delays on top of it. I have been trying to be positive and hope for the best, but the more we've heard about the restructuring at RCA, the more secretly convinced I've been that delays were inevitable. Way, way back when Adam said something about "summer" for the album, no one really knew that this RCA thing was going to happen. Then he started saying "fall" or even "maybe fall" once it started. He knows far more than we do what is really happening at RCA and that may be why he has never really given a firm date. Even when he gave us the "about 8 weeks" for the single a few weeks ago, he wasn't willing to say anything firm about the album. I don't feel like he promised us any particular date and while dissapointed about waiting for new music, I don't feel like this is all that unexpected.

We were granted a breather, it's not a lack of commitment. To some it may seem like that, but really everyone is just adjusting their own speed dial down, so we can ramp it up when we need it later. And of course everyone can vent. Just important to realize that when your venting includes any accusations or includes questioning of intentions/ commitment/ ability of somebody else (other folks here, Adam, RCA, the universe) you will always have others who are in a different place and give you some kind of argumentative response, when really, all you wanted to do is vent. Some folks will take your venting literally and start debating the points with you....when really you want is a and a the ability to scream a bit for a while.... Some want to go into a cave for a little, some want to hang with everyone and just be sadz together, others want to lighten up. Vivlite was asking for a song. Will a little Raggie do for you? I got one for each of you: For the sadz ones who want to cry us a river For the want to stay happy-clappy crowd: For the cave dwellers and absent ones: That's all folks, for now.

wow IDEk what to say. I'm not judging feelings etc... but wow. A slight change of plans in what was more fan speculation than anything else and long time supporters are so disillusioned they have lost enthusiasm for Adam? I'm just baffled by this. Sorry. I think I'm going to take a break till the new single comes out. I feel completely derailed by this POV more than any delay in the album TBQH. Exactly! I am also completely derailed by this POV. Think I'll leave this place for a while also. Don't need all the negativity. Geez! : I thought we were here for the good AND the bad. For helping each other. Everyone has a different way to process these news. Life and friends (because I think of friends when I think of Atop) isn't always rainbows and flowers. And I don't see negativity. I see concern. Different IMO. Anyway everyone is free to do what he wants. Just stating my POV. (And this is another time that I wish my native language would be English so I could express my thoughts better )

I feel like maybe some clarification is needed. When I said that the mainstream nowadays follows a sheep mentality in picking and dropping people to follow, I did NOT mean to say:
1. That people on this board are like this (I think that if you are invested enough to be part of a fan board, most likely you will stick around for a while through high and low)
2. That there is something wrong with this. In fact, I do it myself, all the time. Besides a couple of core artists I support, I move on to the next artist that's hot, whatever. Hey, I wanna appear cool in my circle of friends, I'll admit it!
My statement was more of a musing on a state of fact that Adam and his management need to take into consideration.

I think we need a group hug and some fucking hot pictures posted.
Haven't quite figured out how to do that from the phone. Besides pretty sure my employer would not be amused if I sat here for the next hour figuring it out!

nonotme, that is the sweetest gesture. But knowing you, I am not surprised. I have already ordered my pendant, but I still want to send you a great big hug!

mszue...I hear ya and am having the same thoughts. nonotme...what a lovely gesture! I've already ordered the peace pendant because I wanted to support Adam and The Trevor Project. But, to be honest, I think the necklace isn't selling because it's not tied to Adam as much as the Infinity symbol or the Eye of Horus. I think we all expected something related to the key tattoo....I dunno.... Only a few days left and at this rate is doesn't look like it will match the donation of either of the previous pendants, and that makes me sad. :( (Maybe people have been waiting for the last week and there will be an upsurge. *crosses fingers*) ...at any rate - kudos to you! Not everyone wants the pendant. I made a donation directly to the Trevor project. I also do not believe for a minute that he won't put out the key pendant at some point.
