I thought we were here for the good AND the bad. For helping each other. Everyone has a different way to process these news. Life and friends (because I think of friends when I think of Atop) isn't always rainbows and flowers. And I don't see negativity. I see concern. Different IMO. Anyway everyone is free to do what he wants. Just stating my POV. (And this is another time that I wish my native language would be English so I could express my thoughts better ) when I made that initial post it was in response to some specific comments about how the news had left some unable to generate interest in anything Adam after 2 years of stanning. Or at least that is how I interpreted the comments at the time. That baffled me and I said so. And no, mika, I was not trying to say that their feelings are invalid. Just that I don't understand that because to me the few months delay is not that big of a deal. I thought I was expressing my POV but obviously it did not come across well. Gelly, I am a native speaker but I often have a hard time articulating my thoughts. , there is a big group hug on the table right now! Wanna join in? Songs and group hugs are the BEST! I wasn't offended by your post, even tho I was one of the 'upsetties' from yesterday. I respect you. GROUP HUG!!  |

(in the Aftermath...) Your post last night made me sad and I'm so glad you are still here. To everyone else, I respectfully suggest that people please be allowed to share their feelings w/out judgment or chiding. This is supposed to be a safe place as long as there are no personal attacks yes? If it's a feeling that aggravates your own balance (too sad, too chipper), quickly scroll. I say this gently but saying that one is 'not judging feelings BUT...' is often a lead-int o explaining why sad/frustrated/angry people are illogical (or not committed enough or too committed). Feelings need to be felt to be processed and it would be nice if this remains a place where friends can also share those w/out being judged. Who else do people have to talk about Adam fandom with? And it does take time. Many of us who make no claim to understanding music biz have been told forever by people who profess to know the industry that missing the holiday season and getting pushed back were BAD things for an album and for Adam. So, for me, it understandable fans would be upset FOR ADAM in the absence of clarifying information. IMO, the upset folks are more concerned for Adam and what the hell's going on than their own need for more music. People ARE working this out but why not give them a little time (at least a FEW DAYS) and a little space to share. I feel sad to see people shamed into lurking for being 'negative nellies'. Understand if you want to be among people feeling more positive but perhaps one could do it w/out chiding or stalking away. Atop has provided a stable, safe and loving place for a lot of diverse souls - can't we just be kind and patient with each other (even if we don't always fully get each other) during this bumpy time? I know tl:dr and I'm in trouble for being late to work so those offended by me can be assured punishments will be in the offing . Thanks Mika for this. |

And like some others I've been getting a little bored lately too but NOT WITH ADAM. With Leo's video, with Sauli's Tutka, with everything that is NOT Adam in fact.  I doubt anyone here is bored with ADAM. Not possible. I have no intention whatsoever of leaving the fandom! Oh wait...I am actually leaving tomorrow for just under 2 weeks. But that is a forced hiatus and perhaps comes at the best time possible. |

I might say that my disappointment yesterday came, not from me feeling bad that I wouldn't hear new music from Adam sooner, but I hated that his new album would miss out on the huge black Fri. buying and all the holiday buying. I still feel sad about that.  |

Here's my take on things, for what it's worth. I have faith. I believe in Adam.  1. He's slowly but surely becoming this great artist we all knew he will once become. He's tackled so many hurdles over the years and despite all the obstacles, he's here, entertaining us. Resistance is futile. 2. He seems to be happy with the music and he gets to write (at least most) of it. I KNOW I WILL LOVE IT. For it's Adam; I just can't help myself.... LOL, resistance IS futile. 3. He has made his mark in the industry; people he meets and works with fawn over him and he continues to be a media magnet, even when there's no news.... He's socially relevant. And gets referenced in school books. LOL 4. His management and record label will want him to succeed, they will release his music internationally. The better the roll-out, promo, etc. the more money they'll make on their investment and the better foundation is built for Adam #3. Despite the haste in producing FYE, they mostly did a good job. Now, with the new management & RCA/Jive restructuring, they'll surely need to revise/reschedule the plans. Normal business procedure, IMO. Personally, I'm quite leaning towards the 2 singles release plan, depending how everything goes. 5. Adam and his music and his happiness & Sauli and well-being and dimmers etc. are important to me. BUT. Atop and the lovely, intelligent individuals and great personalities are just as important to me. It will not be the same, if we can not share this roller-coaster ride together, sit on the fence, flail and grieve over silly things. EVERYBODY, please stay. Tend to RL, run a few laps or read a book, but PLEASE come back. It will not be the same without you!!! Wanna share this happy face with you. Don't ya wanna see what Reihmer is going to find us next???   |
