Okay, so. It looks like there are two schools of doom & gloom here: 1) Those who feel personally defeated, who are disappointed that after two years of waiting, the end still isn't nigh. My take: It really sucks to be you. Really, I feel for you. Fortunately, on a larger scale of things, it's all in your head. You'll get over it or you won't. 2) Those who are concerned that the new release date will F up the album sales, or that the pushed release date is a sign of discordance between Adam and RCA. My take: If his first single is a hit, the album will sell okay no matter when it's released. If the single bombs, he's screwed. The first week sales are important, but it's also important that the album keeps selling still six months after its release. If one doesn't get the best release date, longevity is the key. Now Adam and his team will have the time to produce the best stuff they can, and release a second single before the album release if the fist single will lose steam too early (or doesn't take off altogether, like FYE) And I DO believe that RCA and his team has Adam's best in mind. For his career to last and develop, Adam doesn't need the black friday shoppers with money to burn. What he needs are excellent singles that are played in the radio like mofo. Ouch for the bold part, cause that is me, well partially. Well actually 1 and 2 partially fits me. But I'm laughing at that anyway. For me I'm not so much as tired and defeated of waiting period, but tired and defeated of waiting and getting hopes up for an unconfirmed time. It's kind of like your husband promising that you are to go together on this wonderful trip, to this fabulous destination that you always longed to go to, and he says that you're going to go in say April. You get everything planned, prepared and ready to go with enthusiasm. But as soon as the time approaches, he says no, that it isn't a good time to go now, we'll set everything up to go in Sept. You accept it and get everything prepared and ready for the next time, and he then says that it's not a right time, let's set it for some other undisclosed date. Well, after a few of those, you stop getting your hopes up until it's more or less confirmed that you're going to really go. That's kind of where I'm at. Kind of not really believing, or getting my hopes up that the single will actually come out in October and that the album will actually come out early 2012, till i see a lot of ramblings and buzz of promo that it's actually going to happen. And I'm partially at the second point too. I'm not so much as in thinking that he's getting screwed over. More as in, I was hoping that the album would be released in December. Like I read on another blog, is that I think, more or less Adam, needs impulse buyers, or mainly I hope that he has some impulse buyers and there are more of those during the holiday time. Was thinking that it would be better if he has a smash/hit single and release during holiday time, then for him to have a smash/hit single and release during early 2012. But anyway this is tl;dr anyway and probably won't get read, but was just explaining my feelings, for whatever it's worth. :-/

A jollier thought... What do y'all think? My bet: with the new schedule, Adam is in Finland for a white Christmas! Resident Fins: it's a little early, I know, and may seem obscene to, for example, our poor central texans in their 105 degree heat, but what's christmas like in Finland/Helsinki? I'll bet it's pretty damn magical, and I, like Adam, am a "diet Jew." judging by northern Germany, which is the Christmas tradition I know best, through my mom, those northern Europeans do it right!

Hey guys, looking for some green stuff to share. We could all be Zen.
Adam is okay, he will be alright, we will be alright. We are not Justin Timerlake fans.

I think some of us, myself included, had the wind taken out of our sails yesterday, but I am confident that it will return with more gale force once the storm eventually happens.

Why are some of the apostrophes coming out as black diamonds with question marks in them? Is anyone else getting that, or is it just my computer?

Cookie: Mika: , oh, and dude, I PM'd you re: pennyroyal Gelly: I need your expert help. You posted a gif from the post-cherry-listening-party interview a few pages ago, but I wondered if you have another one--the one where Adam does the hand wiggles describing the general wombiness of things... Cookie posted on of my fave things ever last night--the Sauli wiggle gif--and I wanted to see the two side by side, perhaps even along with this: , you know, just cause I have no self control ... Sorry for being late I was a little busy :D

Nonotme I've wanted to do more for this too, but haven't been able to figure out how. With Charity Water's posting board, one could do challenges and 'auctions' or raffles - and see people making their contributions as proof. I would be willing to match a small number of pendant purchases (not so much the silver/silver one lol - the price of the pendants is a bit daunting or I'd buy them for the kids I counsel but can't buy for some and not all :(). I've wracked my brain but couldn't think of a way to promote Pennyroyal Peace Pendant Trevor Project effort. If you come up w/some ideas, feel free to pm me. Or if someone thinks there's a time for an effective live journal effort. I'll help if I can. With Pennyroyal, much of the promotion has been on twitter, cheerleaded in a lot of ways by @_pennyroyal Tim himself. He has offered pretty awesome giveaways to random fans on his email list for each sales thresh-hold reached: us2.campaign-archive2.com/?u=f120dedb5114e4b10b21ebfd8&id=87723d33f7Fans have gotten retweets from celebs and there were some radio station/blog articles earlier. This thread on adamofficial has also been encouraging fans: www.adamofficial.com/us/node/2037842It seems doable to reach the 32k that was reached with the eye of horus for music cares within the time frame given the pace of daily sales, and with last minute purchases and a final push, more may be possible. One idea that occurs to me is to ask for gifting. Someone like Mika, for example, could ask for gifting for his counsellees. Or fans who really want a pendant but can't afford one could ask. Hooplamagnet has organized gifting of music products before. We have an Aftermath gifting thread here, so that might be possible here if mods say it's ok. For myself, I know I won't wear it and I don't have a friend or relative who I think might wear it either, so I've donated directly through the Trevor Bday drive www.stayclassy.org/west-hollywood/events/raise-13000-for-trevors-13th-birthday/e7067which by the way, is extended to the 19th now and giving out t-shirts to random donors (only 2,500$ to meet their goal!). But if I knew of a fan or someone who really wanted a pendant or earrings I could probably afford to gift one and would be happy to. One question for anyone who has bought the pendant, is there any receipt or anything that tells you the amt. that goes to charity (for tax purposes)? I know the percentage, I just wondered if there is a record. Ha ha rabbitrabbit! That is exactly what I just PM'd Mika to suggest, and for exactly the same reasons! Great minds, etc etc...! I up for gifting at least one pendant, be it for a councilee or a desiring fan. Just let me know!

ok,ok now everyone is kissing and hugging those of us who are dissapointed and concerned. HOW ABOUT THE OPTIMISTIC ONES? I have to defend myself. Juniemoon you said "I know there's no evidence for my gloomy thoughts. There's also no evidence for all the cock-eyed optimism." I had to google cock-eyed and found "foolish, ridiculous, absurd" :-/ >:( :-/ (don't worry, I understand what you mean, not insulted ) Now I'll use aloha's method from yesterday to give my answer. For me the evidence is Adam himself. I won't explain any further because 1)I'm not in the mood 2)Amyway everyone will interpretate my words in a completely different way than anyone else. 2)Someone will manage to squeeze David Cook in the conversation. Seriously now, it took 3 seconds for me to process Adam's tweet (oops, well, ok) but there is nothing shallow about it. I would need 3 pages to explain.
