Well as Tinafea said different strokes for different folks. I am a huuuuge Joplin fan and as for Amy i think her album is the best of the decade. And i'm glad Adam thinks of it as one of the best of the decade too.  Damn, gelly how do you remember all this?? When did Adam say Amy's was one of best? I remember some list, but not where for sure...help, please? (That makes me very happy, though.) And can anyone point me to an upbeat/fun/dancey Adele song? I want to find one just for comparison's sake... Thank you for listening to the whole song even though you didnt like it.  |

I also love this kind of music.: Rammstein is the band that Rivers Cuomo said inspired him to write.The song even though i dont understand shit, the performance and the END of the song is brilliant IMO. Of course some of you will look at me like this  www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wBH6HXidO4Funny enough, I liked this Rammstein..... it was very "wagnerian" i.e. operatic. Weird, but I liked it (TM Kara). Reminds me of a Finnish group called Nightwish, also great but not for all.... LOL I LOOOOVE NIGHTWISH.!!! Tarja Turunen has an incredible voice.!!!She left the band now. See?? I found someone who liked Rammstein and now Nightwish!!Wooohooo!!! AND TO CONNECT THIS WITH ADAM THEY ARE FINNISH  |

Music is definitely subjective. I know my musical tastes are very different from most of you here. Very different from most of my friends too. :D I love jazz and standards (Great American Songbook stuff) and a smattering of other genres. And the voice doesn't have to be perfect. I like me some rasp too! Like Louis Armstrong! ETA: I love that Nightwish video PostFestum! Reminds me of the Third Reich (the Wagnerian influence) but other than that it's great! Yes, but you and I go way back regarding music, so I knew you'd get my point. Love ya! And I love me some Satchmo! |
