Part of what drew us all to Adam was he is different than other celebrities, therefore I have higher expectations of him. That may be my problem, not his. Charity:Water - It is A great charity, one I had given to before Adam ever mention it. A friend of my daughter's and her Dad went to Haiti last summer to educate and place the wells through Charity:Water. We spent many months helping her friend raise money for her trip. Adam's Friends: I think they are all very talented and deserving. I don't think they are using Adam. I am just concerned the dynamic has changed making it more difficult for them to keep him grounded. Adam does A remarkable job of not letting the trappings of fame get to him most of the time. That is what I feel changing Celebrity Pictures: A way to change the subject to forget that he had just scolded us. It wasn't the pictures as much as their timing. The Twitter rant: As I said in my OP. The last tweet felt forced and damage control. The other's how he was really feeling. It could have been my mindset when I read them. I read them all at once at the end of A very long day. Tweets: (Read bottom to top) adamlambert Adam Lambert To focus on the positive: I wanna thank the majority of you for your passion, loyalty and *sanity*! Trust me- I owe you guys the world. 21 Feb adamlambert Adam Lambert And ms Miley is so fun! yfrog.com/h3x70hvj21 Feb adamlambert Adam Lambert Change of subject. Look who I met last week! @juliettelewis! She's amazing!! yfrog.com/hsi32lkj21 Feb adamlambert Adam Lambert Remember it's MY life and I thank you for tuning in. 21 Feb adamlambert Adam Lambert And "fans" please refrain from judging my personal life negatively. A few of u #needtogetoneofyourown 21 Feb » adamlambert Adam Lambert Onstage kissing antics were 'for your entertainment' nothing more. 21 Feb Favorite Retweet Reply adamlambert Adam Lambert It's come to my attention fans are givin' Tommy shit. Why?? He's my friend! 21 Feb adamlambert Adam Lambert @tommyjoeratliff let's go get some tattoo work done this week!!! #timeforasleeve 21 Feb Talking it out seems to help. I don't consider myself an entitled fan. I just don't appreciate the twitter rants like most here do. I didn't bu A M&G or the Charity Tshirt, it didn't keep me from feeling he was capitalizing on our generosity.

Adam should have qualified the bottom tweet by saying some fans are givin' Tommy shit. This is a public scolding and will be quoted. The tweets do reflect poorly on his fans and I can understand hurt feelings. I did not, however, take this personally, feeling (lol) above the fray. I, also, wish some fans would not get so emotionally invested in Adam's real/perceived luv interests. However, I am not in charge of the fandom and can really only hope that every time there is a change, folks don't get so upset.

My two cents: I am a fan of Adam's because I love him and want to see him succeed. I want everyone else to think he is as great as I do. I support him as a bsc fan because I WANT TO and it makes me happy. If he never, ever acknowledged his fans or thanked them, it would be ok with me .... but he does, repeatedly. Charity: water. IMO, Adam "gave" all $294K to the charity, simply by asking his fans to "redirect their financial energy". He is directly responsible for all the donations and doesn't need to give a dime of his own money. But we really don't know that he didn't. The 29.29.29 shirts: I won't be buying one because I don't want one and would rather give the money directly to charity water. Being a "look on the bright side" kind of person, I really believe that ALF simply wanted to "give" something to the fans, and giving them the opportunity to buy a commemorative shirt was a way of saying "thank you". Also, they are throwing a little "exclusive content" bone to the ALF members. Perhaps the true reasoning was more mercurial in nature, but I choose not to believe it.

kittykay--I'm so sorry you are having these feelings; they are hard to deal with, understand and reconcile and I hope some of the responses here can help you get some answers.
For me, I'm very happy with Adam; I really don't see any changes in him and I'm over the top happy that he seems to have gotten some balance between his professional and personal life. Someone said upthread that he has to be insanely busy and that's just with things we can think of and I would imagine there's a lot more and I would guess that the more success he has, the busier he will be. I think RCAEd said recently that we were so fortunate to be obsessed with an artist who's constantly trying to think of new things to give his fans.
As Adam said in the OUT interview, "I'm doing the best I fucking can" and FOR ME, he's "doing it perfectly."
Hope you can sort out your feelings so that you feel better soon.

Thanks for your reply. Lets be clear here: Are you one of the shippers is that why it touched a nerve? Are you suggesting that Adam kissing hetrosexual Tommy has not created confusion then you are naive? Who spoke about visibility based on what? You can be critical of this research for all you want but its all clear to see what's going on here. I said very clearly 'some'? So what are you going on about gay rights. I am all for it if not I would not be a fan otherwise. The only thing I got from your post is that you want Adam to continue his shows as the way they are. After six months of 'the crazies' as you call them cant get enough. I say NO The music must be the focus as I said in my post and nothing else and I stick by my views. I love Adam's music and his personality. I will speak my mind when I need to. I am sure Adam is concerned about this problem thats why he twitted it. As a fan I am really scared for him. Regards Babie. Am I one of the shippers? Well that's a loaded question. Do you define shippers as the crazies who believe it's true instead of the actual definition of the term? Yes, I read fanfiction, no I have no illusions about what is real. I get tired of the impression that everyone seems to have here that ALL shippers are dellusional nutjobs. That is not the case. Just as many here don't like the implication that ALL Adam's fans are sparkle cows I don't like that this impression remains despite that attempts to properly define the terminology. Contrary to popular belief fanfic authors don't want or intend for the subjects of their fiction to read about it. It is fantasy loosely based on reality. Many, many mainstream books and Hollywood movies are also based on reality as well. I wasn't saying that kissing Tommy didn't create confusion. Confusion can be good. That moment sparked endless discussions and debate and opened peoples minds and hearts. I said if Adam makes creative decisions base on how a crazy person might be confused it is detrimental to his art. I didn't say he had to continue I said there was positive benefit to what he did and he should not make a decision to avoid that based on a few crazy people. Adam was concerned about the hate being directed at his friends and he should be and he addressed it. But if he compromises his art based on the crazies we all loose. All I am saying is that the crazies will be there regardless of what he does and whether or not he kissed Tommy on stage wouldn't have stopped them from finding something to be nuts over and we would have lost all the positive gain that the moment did provide. Hope that answered your questions. I just have to stick up for you rihannsu and say that I agree with you and appreciate the way you get to the heart of the matter. Your posts about this subject have been enlightening and to the point.

All I can say to this is --whataya want from him? He's human, not perfect, and in the end he is trying to have a viable music career and can't possibly please everyone all the time or else his fans will keep demanding more and more from him and it will never stop. I think one needs to remember he is not "yours" so to speak and as fans we have no claim on him. IMO he's already a hell of a lot more likeable than most pop stars. Your feelings are valid and I am not dismissing them but...all I can say is....entitlement is not sexy. ymmv What is entitled about not wanting to be yelled out via twitter? (I am not an Adommy shipper and was tweeting hate to no one. I would say that applies to 99.9% of the fanbase) Did no one else here feel A little gouged that the fan club is selling A shirt commemorating the Charity event for a profit? Heh. I felt gouged when I purchased the lipstick compact mirror, a $20 item that's worth about $2. But no matter, I love Adam and he is more than busy building his career, making a place for himself in a crazy business. I hope his handlers are keeping him informed, but I can imagine that he is unable to personally inject himself into everything his image represents. It's just not possible. I hope he meets and parties with celebs. I hope he continues to make amazing connections that skyrocket his career into the stratosphere. Good on him. I hope he occasionally uses twitter to smack down the fools. I still tweet him at least 2x a week, because I can. I try to say sweet things to him. I fantasize that he notices. Makes me feel good. The ALF site is ok. I don't go there very much, but was grateful for it after Planet Fierce went down and I have "met" a couple of interesting people there. However, I began distancing myself from the online fan experience after Fantasy Springs a year ago when I realized I was spending way too much time invested in Adam and not nearly enough time invested in myself, my family, my career. I used Adam as inspiration to get my shit together and now I'm truly following my dreams, working hard and making more $ than I ever have in my life. I still listen to Adam more than any other artist. I still check in with the Daily News at least 3-4x a week, but today, I have posted more than I have in 6 months because I am busy with my life, living my passion ( for those of you who don't know me, I'm a midwife). I still find Adam powerfully inspirational for me, because I am also a lesbian. He keeps his sexual preference visible and I LOVE HIM for that! It's about damn time. Melissa Etheridge, The Indigo Girls, Elton John and others all came before him, but, none of them publically came out before their career explosion. Adam has the potential to truly change the way people think about the LGBT community, bless him. Will he stumble here and there and disappoint his fan base from time to time? Yes, but that's how it goes. It's difficult to keep a couple million people happy all the time. Dude's got to figure it out for himself and as long as he keeps singing, I'm good.

One last comment and then I'm going to get back to real life I've seen several comments today and other times about the ALF M&G being too expensive, a rip-off, money-grubbing, etc. This seems so strange to me - I don't know of any major artist who doesn't have paid M&G offers for their fan club and most are FAR more expensive than these were. I didn't buy one because I don't feel it is worth it and a few seconds with Adam isn't how I would want to meet him (I would feel very uncomfortable and it has an animal in the zoo sort of feel for me.) But offering these to the "fanclub" fans is absolutely normal. I also suspect that this is how he was able to fund the fanclub. It does NOT seem to be sponsored by 19/RCA and I am sure he needs to pick up all expenses. Running a site like that is not cheap - in addition to the technical end - servers, web design, support, they also need to have people to administer it who get paid (I know there are some "fan moderators" who may be working for free, but there are definitely a paid administrator or two behind it as well. By offering the M&G at a "reasonable" price (and it is reasonably compared to the many others out there - and clearly plenty of fans felt it was a reasonable price since they paid it!) he was able to start up this site. Since the tour was already underway there really wasn't much "exclusive" stuff they could offer. Since then, they did the calendar and some contests and such. I would expect there will be much more happening there as #2 is released and a new tour setup. If this site is NOT associated with 19/RCA that is a GOOD thing for Adam - if he eventually leaves either of those for new management or a new label, he will be able to keep that site (adamofficial.com would surely disappear and he would not have access to any of the member emails or anything from there) and that contact with his fans.

I don't want to beat a dead horse and most of what I would say has already been said. But I can directly address his not mentioning the amount the charity had raised on The Talk. I was there. The main host, I think her name is Julie, started that quetsion too close to commercial. As soon as she started on the charity, I knew they were going to run out of time and it would be short. One of the producers was right in front of me, stage right, holding up a sign that said, 60 seconds, then 30 secondes, then 15 seconds, and it was done. Even the person that I was sitting with and I, commented that she didn't give him enough time. Also, the EXTRA interview was a good 20 minutes. I got 7 minutes, on my You Tube video, and that is twice as long as EXTRA aired on TV. But it is still half as long as they actually filmed. Adam talked a lot about the chraity. They just didn't show it all. And Ellen didn't even ask about the charity, which surprised me, but it's her show, not Adam's. I think Aedam was an added on guest and was not even supposed to have "couch" time but she fit it in and the subject was the Grammy. That day, he also interviewed with Perez Hilton, which we didn't know unitl later, and talked a lot about the charity and his fans. I hope this helps you understand that the show decides what gets shown, not Adam. He is merely the guest.
ETA: Just want to add my comment to the tweets you posted, kittykay.
Adam made a very clear attempt to show that he was talking to the few fans who were tweeting Tommy. Why would that offend anyone that wasn't doing it?

The rant wasn't directed at me personally, I understand that. I just don't see the necessity of A twitter rant at all. I must have missed something. The cray didn't seem any worse than normal. It wasn't as bad as the people saying he was with Taylor at nauseum or the hate directed at Brad at many various times.
