I'm watching on HBO a history of DADT. I had NO IDEA how horrible this has been to the military. I am soooo glad it has ended.

I came across an essay written by the long-time partner of a soldier who was about to be deployed. Again. He wouldn't be able to go and see his boyfriend off as the other SOs would. His partner couldn't keep photos of their lives together over his bunk as all the others did. If they were to have children together, he couldn't even mention their existence. SusieFierce, loved this post. (Also enjoyed your post about Sean Hayes and the music/comic timing connection -- interesting). So happy about the repeal of DADT. I keep thinking about a little personal story related to my children. When my older two (who are close to Adam's age, and gay/bi) were adolescents, my younger son (who is straight) was about 5 years old. One day he asked me "What does 'gay' mean?" (I'm pretty sure he was hearing it in school about his brother, and possibly his sister). I said something like "It means that a boy loves another boy or a girl loves another girl". My son said "Oh, that's sad!" I asked him why he said that. He said "Because it means they can't be with their love!" Even at that young age he knew something was wrong with the world. I have limited time to spend here now, so hope to not be posting much -- we'll see! But happy flailing, all! That's so sweet.  Kids are so much more perceptive than they're given credit for. And LMAO, Nica, I loved your comment about your kids – both of my kids, who are Snobs but I am not sure of what kind.  THAT PR PIC!!! Gahhh, how adorable is he???  |

Saw a promo for their next show, and they said "guest judge Adam Lambert", with his name highlighted and everything. Do Project Runway usually promote their guest judges for their upcoming episodes? If they do I don't remember seeing it, and I watch Against the Wall, and I don't remember seeing it before. Anyway I think it's great, what with the excitement that him being on the show is causing. |

They all have WTF looks on their faces. Michael and Nina appear to be displeased, Adam looks like he is about to laugh and Heidi is trying to be polite. Maybe they are looking at the "Pocahontas/Reggae Jesus" outfit referred to in the promo video. Can't wait for Thursday -- this is going to be fun!  |
