I always miss all the fun, and won't even begin to try to contribute to the many interesting discussions of the past few days, so I'm really sorry for this late flailing--I feel like the chick at the dinner party who finally guffaws at the joke about six minutes later when the convo's already moved way onwards, because she was too slow to get it at first. But I do have to say that my dippily excited grin totes outshines his pleased smile right now, after catching today's twitter party. Geez, Adam, just when I begin to get a grip you gotta go and snatch that healthy sense of RL perspective right outta my weak and trembling little hands again, huh. Well, honey, that makes this all your fault: GIMME GIMME GIMME ALBUM/SINGLE NOOWWWWWWWWWW!!! (To be honest, this latest round of teasers makes me soooo much more excited than the original more real/less camp from the heart stuff did, not because I don't want Adam to write from the heart--of course I do--but because that stuff didn't tell me anything about what the music would SOUND like, and music is a sound, after all. These new tidbits? Oh my god are they right up my alley. :D) Also, on the imagining we know shit about his private life side of things, is it just me or is that Adam's "I'm away from Sauli" necklace? What the fuck is in that little parcel? I GOTTA KNOW. (Okay, I can learn to live with disappointment. I'm excellent at making shit up!  ) |

for the album just not the singles.

I love that Adam knows what he wants to do and what he likes, and that he makes that clear in his twitter response to that one fan. It makes me feel there is less chance of him getting pushed around by TPTB. He also seems to want to make it clear that the label is being patient, implying that the release date stems from his choice. Oh, and I am glad he has found love. The tweets to which Adam chooses to respond give insight about what he wants to put out there. Lynne: I think we are sharing a mind! I was just thinking that Adam had hundreds or maybe even thousands of tweet questions to choose to answer. Altho the twitter party was spontaneous, I suspect Adam carefully chose the questions he would answer to convey the messages he wanted fans to hear. 1. I am responsible for when the music is released. I am not being jerked around by the label or anyone else. 2. I am focused on producing a mind-blowing, quality album and singles, not on optimum release dates for sales or for upcoming awards shows. I won't be pressured to release something until I am ready. 3. I am making the album I want to make. I take into consideration all that I have learned in the past couple of years and it influences my decisions, but ultimately, I am making music I like. If you don't, buy the other guy's album. 4. This music is really good! Really good! I am very happy with it. I think you will be, too. 5. I am in love and very happily so. Nope, ain't gonna give you any details, because it is my personal life. So, you can either trust what I say and respect my privacy, or you can continue fantasizing about some fictional Adam you have created in your mind. Adam is one smart dude to use Twitter this way. |

Just a comment on Post Gay and "Fag Hag" -- whoever wrote the Urban Dictionary definition for Post Gay was apparently not Post Gay. "Fag Hag" implicitly requires that you classify people based upon the sexual orientation of their friends and so is not Post Gay.
Setting that aside, all the synonyms -- fruit fly, homo honey, fruit loop, Goldilocks, flame dame, fairy princess, and fairy godmother (list from Wiki cause I did not know all of these -- flame dame is pretty hot!) are also not Post Gay.
Personally, I am thinking about reclaiming Flame Dame.
Setting all of that aside -- I think many people are Post Gay and it is not about age it is about attitude and values.

Guess it is my night for spamming the thread.
In one of Adam's tweets he said, "The next tour ( prob next year) will have a whole new concept and name."
Now, are we squeeing because he has said he will probably tour next year (assume that means 2012), or are we angsting that he said "prob next year", so there is some doubt?

My best guesses: - There are three tracks that Adam is finalizing -- Benny Blanco, Bonnie MacKee and Rico Love -- and one will most likely be selected as the single. - There is no release date for the single, single is still being worked on and not selected -- Late October could happen, November is starting to seem more likely - Album tracks have been selected but may be changed around. And often the bonus tracks and retailer promo bonus tracks are not picked until very late in the process. I am still hoping for 18-22 tracks in total plus remixes and acoustic versions. AND Pharrell Williams FLAIL! FLAIL! FLAIL! ETA: PROB next year for the Tour!!! Is a SQUEE moment. |
