I'm okay with spiders, had a pet snake when I was a teenager.
Now I HATE palmetto bugs! Yep they are just huge flying cockroaches. Two quick palmetto bug stories.
We were on vacation on Hilton Head when I was a tween. There was a huge one in our villa and we could not kill it. We even named him. Well one night, I get up to pee and don't turn the light on. I sit down and hear and feel SQUISH. I screamed so loud that I probably woke up the whole damn island. The good thing was that I finally killed the palmetto.
When I was twenty something, I worked as an office manager in a restaurant/bar. One of my jobs was to come in really early, count the money and do the math on the previous night. One morning I'm sitting there peacefully counting the money and talking to my Mom on the phone. All of a sudden all she hears is this huge scream. A palmetto had flown down my shirt and landed on my boob. I ripped my shirt off popping all the buttons. I look up and the beer delivery guy had just chosen that moment to come in my office and have his ticket signed. There I am hopping up and down, bare boobies bouncing, while my Mom is yelling through the phone (which is on the floor) thinking that I was being robbed of the money.
HATE the motherfuckers! But I would move back to FL tomorrow if I could.

Mine tends toward the Playboy bunny / stripper, also. KENDRA VIXXEN. The site must be run by a male rapper who likes his women hot but non-fierce. Boo! HAHA If that is the case, he will not be interested in me as my rapper name is....drum roll....HARMONY LOVE!! hahaha |

He's cute, dressed nice, has eyeliner and Adam's latest hair do. I give him A for effort (not for execution). OH, they play TFM during the judge commentary! Need a translation. Just wanted to drop by and give you a quick mini-overview over what was said in German without doing a translation, it is not worth it. The guy explained beforehand that he is basically homeless, tries to sing wherever he can find a gig, and his goal is to become the best artist he can be (heavy applause). He then announces that he sings WWFM and both audience and judges are clearly familiar with the song (heLLOoo Mr Levine). One judge stresses specifically that he is looking forward to hearing that. The guy sings and the critique is kind of strange. Very little about the singing (which is generally perceived as 'alright' to 'ok') most of the discussion centers around his presentation style and his introduction which is perceived as fake and non-believable. The musical theater question is brought up. Generally, he is perceived as weird, but an ok singer and let through to the next round. None of the judges talked about his singing (neither his running away from the beat nor his clear inability to understand where the break in the voice is and that it might not be ideal to have a song where he constantly has to jump up to right where he cannot perform). The one comment that kind of came close to saying the latter came again from that same judge who said he was looking forward to the song and he basically said afterwards that it would be important to find suitable material for him. I would concur with that one. The guy is clearly inspired by Adam in many ways and so he tries to sing his song, but he does not understand that his voice is different and either he needs to transpose the song or find a song that sits more in his own vocal range. It is very clear that he sounds good in the beginning, but then cannot handle the higher notes and then it goes downhill from there. Subject change: Jablea, loved your post yesterday, big smile on my face, and I am so with you....I don't think we should over-analyze Adam's statements and word-choices either at times. And surely we should not feel categorized by them. Actually, I loved especially the last few pages yesterday and I sometimes am just sad that by the time I get to read them, you are on a new thread and new subjects and I just want to say: Rihannsu, mys*&@^#r50, Jablea, iluvfun42, Cassie and many others, all your posts yesterday made an impression on me and it is just too late to jump in and add to it, but love you all. Melliemom, my thoughts and prayers are with you….stay strong. We love you. Pjd, all the best for your Grandma too. |
