Speed-reading the thread to catch up, but I so much appreciate the fans who are always so quick to helpfully crop out the unimportant parts of any pic to allow us to fully appreciate the beauty that is Adam... :D Now if only someone could crop out this guy's arm and photoshop mine in there instead. That would be Marieppf....master cropper!

His comment regarding Adam's FYE album caught my attention. He said he felt it should have done better than it did, I wish he would elaborate on this and say why it did not do as well as he thought it should have. He also went on to say WWFM was a HUGE HIT, I would love to ask his opinion on why he felt FYE album should have been bigger. Curious, what is your reaction to this part of his answer? 1) Idol bias 2) Not enough radio play for 2nd single. No third single (not counting FYE as the first) 3) Gay bias But add in the international sales and he did great. Maybe Evan doesn't know that. Here's my opinion on why it didn't do better. 1) AMA bias 2) Cover bias 3) Not enough radio play for either of his two singles brought about by 1 and 2. I really, truly believe the AMA's cost him a ton in sales and radio play. It was a huge miss IMO and if he'd presented himself like he did on Idol the masses would have taken to him just like we did. Being gay wouldn't have mattered if he'd charmed his way into the masses' hearts but he didn't right out of the gate. His first impression to a non-Idol audience (the AMAs) was not at all charming. I know he's learned from that. I know that performance was not representative of who he is. But the masses didn't know that and he's had to work to change that initial impression. And work he has and the more he works the more people forget. I believe his talent and inherent charm will win out in the end. I just need him to get one spectacular major music award performance under his belt to completely convince me he's arrive and accepted. (I doused myself in hot sauce before typing this post in an effort to sound....spicy? LOL! I mean coherent.)

This one works. UKGlambert AdamLambertRocksUK Yahoo link : 'Majors & Minors' Creator Evan Bogart on Working with Adam Lambert Finding the Future Justin Bieber (Q&A) oscars.movies.yahoo.com/news/8773-majors-minors-creator-evan-bogart-on-working-with-adam-lambert-finding-the-future-justin-bieber-q-a10 minutes ago ETA: Adding first Q&A. THR: These kids get to spend time with real working artists, who do you have on tap and why did you choose them?Bogart: We have Will.I.Am, Sean Kingston, Avril Lavigne, Leona Lewis, Adam Lambert, Jordin Sparks, Ryan Tedder, Brandy… RCA obviously brought a lot their people to the table, and we reached out to a lot of different people. Our main criteria was that they have some experience working with kids, but mostly we’re were looking for people who started out when they were young – doing, film, musicals... That's why Brandy is so important, because some of these kids want to be in acting, and she did it all at their age. When I started working with Kingston, he was 16. Avril was a kid. Adam Lambert, he went through the Idol thing. Also, each of them was chosen for something that they're known for. Like Adam digs into stage presence, Jordin works on vocal technique, Kingston, Ryan Tedder and Claude Kelly did a lot of songwriting mentoring. It's very calculated. THR: You mentioned Adam Lambert, what are his strongest attributes when it comes to participating in a show like Majors and Minors?Bogart: First of all, he's an incredible singer. His range is ridiculous. But he really wanted to work with the kids on stage presence and delivering the right performance. Even when you're not the person singing, what you're doing, how you're interacting with other people on stage, how you're being a part of it when you're not the center of attention. And then when you are the center of attention, how you grab that, run with it, and then pass it off. Because a lot of the performances are done as an ensemble. So, Adam worked with them individually on their movements and their presence. It was something he specifically said he wanted to do. THR: You co-wrote “Down the Rabbit Hole” and "Broken Open" from his debut album, have you worked on Adam’s new record, too?Bogart: We've been writing, but I haven't heard whether anything was confirmed or not yet. THR: What can you tell us about his new music?Bogart: He's really taken the reigns on this record. I haven't heard all the songs, but what I did hear, they're very Adam. They're deep and true. He was saying that he didn't want anything to be about "rebel this and that." Like on the first record, it was very much a let-your-flag-show kind of thing. This one is more specific to what's going on in his life and his relationships. I think he's making a very personal record, and he's kind of in control of it. I think he changed management, because he's definitely leading the charge on this record. THR: He has one of the most successful post-Idol careers, are you surprised at how well he’s done in such a fickle music buying climate?Bogart:There have been a handful of Idols that, while watching the show, I've picked up the phone, called my team and said, "I know there's, like, 12 episodes left, but I have to work with this person." And he was one of them. So, I'm not surprised at all. I think he's a star. I think the first record probably should've done even better. "Whataya Want From Me" was a huge hit!
