It makes a lot of sense that Adam is Executive Producer of his own album.
Does not surprise me at all. Well, there is some surprise… that he is doing that within a major label .
Not a lot of major labels will hand this authority to the artist.
If you are bank rolling a project , you will want to make sure you have the right to decide on the final cut…. I think it’s smart for an artist to have a legitimate part of that authority. The artist can ensure that the integrity of his work is preserved.
Plus if the artist also is an investor in his own work I would assume , the gains are much higher.
The risks may be high, but when you have greater control, the risks are managed in an efficient way.
This is assuring for me as a fan, that my idol is smart.
Project Runway just showed everyone how smart and crisp Adam's communication skills are.... Being Executive Producer just assured me that there is intellect along with that talent ....So proud.. and so glad I made the right choice in "Idols"..

I can spell (mostly) but am a perfect fool when it comes to computer stuff and cannot do it myself there being no simple "post button"... And I just noticed the same mistake in Q3's post, it's not "the ability to reign him", the verb is rein, and the idea underlying it is pulling the reins of a horse. Why am I pointing this out? I never get a chance to contribute with news or new ideas, so I jumped at this chance to say something, which is not that significant, but still puts me - the lurker queen - here on this page with you dear friends, talking about beloved Adam ! |

Can you imagine Adam singing this to Sauli! (changing the gender lyric, though!  YAY - I'ts almost scary to think that some of Adam's new songs can have lyrics like that to be connected to his relationship with Sauli. I personally don't know if I can survive that kind of emotional storm.  |
