Reihmer, repeating part of a post that was co-mingled with others that Q3 "disappeared" the other day...now that I've written this much, it is totally not worth reposting, but here goes.
After hiring a registered dietitian to scientifically calculate the total number of calories represented in your birthday treats, we have come up with a gazillion and two. ;D
Atop rules: 1) Salivate over anything Adam. 2)Salivate over reihmer's other visual treats.
This is why we all get stuck here. Then add 4Msrmyn's glorious labor-intensive archives, and many of us may not emerge from the rabbit hole until the new single. It's getting crowded down there!

So if I understand Adam's speech correctly (and pls feel free to correct me, I'm not an English speeker), he says that in the last 2 years he became aware that some young people don't have it as easy as he did, and being where he is now, he tries to do something about it, to make it easier for them. Now when I think about it, there is no doubt that he had been aware of the difficulties young gay people go through, long before that. He's heard plenty of stories, even from his own ex bf. Is it that he couldn't internalize and deal with it before? Maybe only now he's emotionally ready to go back and relive the feelings that he had as a teen, and understand others through it? I'm also reminded of his EQCA speech, where he said that maybe in the beginning (right after Idol), he said some stupid things (he did say stupid, didn't he?), referring, I assume, to him not wanting to be the voice of gay people, but just an entertainer (which I don't find stupid at all, by the way). Somehow these two speeches seem to me to be saying the same thing. Maybe I'm completely off, or just over analyzing. I just find it interesting. Hi, katycake, I think he was trying to say that while he didn't quickly embrace the opportunity his celebrity status affords him, he soon realized that not all LGBT teens had the same acceptance he did from his parents and now he wants to make his support a stronger part of his identity in order to help others. Hmm, that's not much clearer than what you said, and I supposedly speak English. But I hope it helps! Yup, I assume that's what he meant. I am not sure I agree with him re the "it's not hard" statement... perhaps he was trying to be super inspirational, not sure it worked though... I need to listen a couple of more times, to understand. It seems to me he talked himself into advising people to move to an area that is gay-friendly - which is of course what he had done...but isn't that exactly the "hard" part? (live in a ghetto to be accepted? - dramatizing here...)

"$1,000,000 Donation Total Revised! We recently learned that there were some large donations that were not accounted for in the previous total donation calculation. We previously reported that we needed to raise $75,000 for The Trevor Project from the sale of the Peace Pendant in order to reach a total of $1,000,000 raised for Adam's various charitible efforts by you, his fans. With these missing donation amounts accounted for, we only need to raise a total of $40,000 for Trevor Project in order to hit the $1,000,000 total donation mark! We are only $5,000 away from reaching the $1,000,000 goal" Hmm, I wonder if these "missing donations" are the ones that contributed directly to Trevor Project instead of buying the pendants.

There were fans at this event? Yeah, a couple. How did I not know that this was a public event? I remember seeing somewhere that it was in a private home....and completely missed that tickets were for sale. Do I have to turn in my stan card???

I'm not entirely certain that we need to be taking apart everything he said and parsing it down to the last syllable- that seems to me to be looking for something to disagree with. He meant try as best as you can to surround yourself with the positive and not the negative. I am certain he would never tell a troubled 14 year old "well, get together $5000 and move to SanFran."

As for the "not hard" - I think it relates to him never wanting to be a victim, or be conceived as someone who always complains (which he never does, but that doesn't stop some people from accusing him of doing it). As for the ghetto - I think it just depends how you call it, ghetto or community. I guess most of us try to live in a community that suits us, don't we? I, for one, would never live in an ultra-orthodox community. It would be unbearable!

I love JustJarred. "Did you catch Adam as a guest judge during Project Runway’s menswear challenge this past week? If you missed him, you can watch the full episode over on MyLifetime.com!" *sigh* he is so gorgeous. I see what mys*&@^#r said about the earrings, I am not sure if we have seen that before, have we? Um, gelly?
