James Durbin
Adam Lambert ( looking younger than Durbin)
Obviously we can hear who has superior talent.
But whatever is the motivation of this James , he obviously
admires Adam Lambert. Unless he develops into someone like the room mate in SWF, his admiration is probably a good thing for Adam. Many are now talking about Adam even if he is deep in creative work far from the Idol world.
I think it's Durbin's chance to make something out of his life . His introduction to the viewers in Idol, is just too much drama for me though. But hey , if Adam's works and life will make someone reach out for their star, then that's great.
We we will see how this storey will unfold....

SInce I do not follow Idol, can someone please fill me in - from what I understand Durbin is now between the last 24 contestants?
And from now on the audience will vote?
When Adam was on the show wasn´t there 36 people and then the last 13?
I am a bit confused by this voting system.

Just a quick thought On James Durbin. I had seen that interview w/James and his band and how he mentioend he writes about sex and whores. THen the reference that his band was truly a rock back and not glam. Well, we all know what he was referring to. FOr me, this boy has lost big time brownie points. Can he sing Yes he can sing and can hit those high notes but I'm not feeling his songs right now. As Kara said to Adam like I still feel like you are doing theatre and it's not touching my hear (somethinging) like that) THis is what I am feeling from James. he is just showing off his range and it's not resonating w/me.
Adam had/has the complete package as Paula would say.

Finished last night's thread.Just wanted to say my thoughts on Durbin. To me he sounded like he was off key through the whole song, not to mention the way he scaled the high notes. It was pain to my ears.I might be wrong of course, what DO i know. I'm actually feeling very sad for this guy. Its obvious to me he wants to be another Adam and i also believe that they encourage his dream on AI and i stronly believe that they even encouraged him to sing ACIGC just to create conversation, the media, twitter, EVERYTHING just to high up the rates. I believe they will use him and then throw him. He is not gonna make it and i think they know it. Adam's name is so strong in the AI world and they think they're gonna rise up the dead AI. Not gonna happen. I agree with you here- I have even checked the video with him singing. They are trying to get the ratings up at his expense. They know the comparisons will create controversy. It is so transparent. Adam was experienced and self-confident - this guy is neither. Same here - I just finished yesterday's thread and attempted to watch Durbin ACIGTC (thank you for posting!...) It was HORRIBLE! - the voice is annoying as hell, his phrasing is all off and the song is totally unrecognizable...BUT: I WELCOME HIM WITH ALL MY HEART! Because Adam's name is brought up - it is GOOD FOR ADAM - and that is all I care about. So, I want Durbin to stay on the show as long as possible and be an Adam imitation as long as possible. (I can't watch the show for some reason, just can't... I tried and it feels empty and pathetic to me) lifeguard - Welcome! I seem to remember your name - may be from some other site...or have you been here or on PF before? Just a quick note - I noticed that Adam's FYE album has picked up in sales - maybe AI's mentioning Adam has reminder AI viewers of his amazing voice.
I WANNA A "PLATINUM" album now. I want AI to present Adam his Album certification!!!!!!!!

For better or worse, the James vs. Adam comparison is making news today -- so it is a fair topic for the Adam News thread. But it is really looking like a "dead horse" to me. So post about it if you have something to say that hasn't already been said. |
