Before FYE came out, we got some little snippets of the songs. Like 20 or 30 seconds of each track. So, are we gonna get *anything* this time? Is it common for a lot of artists to leak the short "teasers" before their albums drop??? I think these days we're guaranteed to get advance snippets of any music sold on iTunes or Amazon. I'm hoping that we'll also get an album sampler video. I don't have any reason to expect one, but it's what I'm hoping for. Some artists put together an album sampler and post it on video sharing sites like their official YouTube or Facebook accounts even before song snippets are available on iTunes or Amazon or their website and long before the full album streams on AOL Music or MySpace or places like that. The sampler usually contains 30 - 90 second snippets of each song that play over new photos and/or video of the artist in the studio or wherever and sometimes features a voiceover from the artist about a certain song or two. The video, besides being exciting for fans in and of itself, makes it easy for fans to spread the word about a new CD by passing it around via Twitter, Facebook, message boards, blogs, etc, and reporters can embed it with online articles about the upcoming album. While I'm dreaming, I'm also hoping for a behind-the-scenes video before the CD drops. Awesome statement by Uh Huh Her in their press release today. Ha, that pic. I love it that Adam is all balls to the wall in his comments and image lately. And then he segues just as easily into being all contemplative. I wonder if he's just in that kind of a mood or if his Twitter question tonight has anything to do with themes on his album. ETA: I just read his last tweet. He really is a sweetheart, and a beautiful man, despite what he may think sometimes. He's going to help a lot of people tonight to feel better about themselves. |

OT but I have to post this one cause it is so odd.... Howard Benson (most famous in Idol-dom as Daughtry's producer, I remember him as the man who buried Adam's vocals in Aftermath (FYE version)) has releases for two big artists this fall -- and they are releasing on the same day -- 11/21/11 -- both have last names that start with "D" -- Daughtry and Durbin. What are they thinking releasing James' album on 11/21/11????? And it's the same day Nickelback releases their new album. Let me mark my calender now --- not!! I actually like those aqua board shorts more than Nickelback. Once Adam vacated it, I guess the date must have seemed free to some folks. ;D :  ;D They will still all be behind Subo by multiple 100K. And she will not sell the 6 million anymore that she had last time, but I think she will still take that date. My prediction: (yes, I am thinking cross-genre, any problem with that? ???) SuBo > Nickelback > Daughtry > Durbin.... Glad Adam is not out on that day anymore. But to be honest, overall I am not writing Durbin off anywhere near as much as some people here do. I know he is hated (as in raked over the coals) on this site a lot, but just wanna let you know that there are other opinions out there on this whole topic - foot in mouth disease and all. He will do alright, I think people will be surprised. Guy has got guts! Personally, from this year's idol I am most watching for Haley and I hope that Adam gives her a shout-out when she has her album out there. |

I just hope that he didn't actually take a row of ear piercings up to his cartilage, that would be such an emo DIY look! Dunno about the idea of a photo shoot. If there was, I hope that it was for a mag and for official promo pics, because as much as I love to see him experiment, promo pics will linger around for a long time, longer than that hairstyle. |
