Woah!!!! Quite the day. I leave you with this..... WILL YOUIf I do not fit into the box that you have built Will you try to change me, Or will you allow me to grow outside of its confines
If I kneel in a completely different direction Will you shun me, Or will you accept that my faith is just that….. My Faith
If I love more obviously or unlike you Will you fear me blindly, Or will you challenge yourself to see beyond that fear
If my friends do not look or act like your friends Will you assume they aren’t worth your time, Or will you take the time to know their worth
Learning does not end when we leave school Growing does not cease when we hit puberty Forgiveness is inside all of us, waiting to be free Perfection is unattainable because it does not exist Pedestals are meant to display objects, not people
Will you promise to continue to learn Will you strive to grow beyond your current self Will you free yourself of the burden and forgive Will you admit that no one is perfect Will you take my hand and watch me step down from this height that you fearGLCD 2009 THIS!!! LOVE Yes, me too. Thanks, Geezlouise!!

Just a thought to throw out there....if Adam wants to wear Galliano then let him. The action of him admiring the art behind the beautiful suit does not automatically mean he condones Galliano's anti antisemitism and racism and general asshattery.....just like all the men who buy their fiancee's diamond engagement rings don't condone the terrible ways most of these diamonds are harvested....
It may not be the best analogy here...but I am not going to finger wag and judge him over it. I do not make apologies for him simply because I am a fan, it's just that each and every one of us have to decide what's best for ourselves. What we are willing to overlook and what we can accept. Maybe he feels Galliano has atoned for his bad behavior? Maybe he chooses to overlook it so he can wear a nice suit? Who knows....he's not perfect. I''m sure if we all take a good look at ourselves we will find things we have done, said and agreed with that aren't exactly virtuous. Hell, I am not a homophobe and fully support gay rights, but I still shop at Target even though the company got caught fund raising for an anti gay politician. Does that make me a bad person? A hypocrite? It may to some, but I know that where I choose to shop and who I am and my values are not one in the same.
Sorry for the spiel...fandom today has really just exhausted me and I need a breather. Off to chill out away from the drama....adios!

Being addicted doesn't cause a person to hate certain minority groups. It's just that being under the influence diminishes the person's ability to edit himself. Just because he went to rehab, doesn't mean he stopped hating Jews. He's just better equipped to control what he says out loud. It isn't even a matter for court. Each of us is free to make the decision whether they're comfortable buying from a racist. I agree with this. The guy's statements can't be forgiven just because he had a substance abuse problem. However--in our lives, we buy groceries and clothing and all manner of goods, and in doing so we may very well be putting money into the pockets of people whose opinions we would vehemently disagree with. The clerk at the supermarket might well be an avowed Nazi, but we pay her salary by shopping at that store. Boycotting said store would just deny other innocent employees the right to make a living. I personally would hesitate to buy from Galliano (even if I could afford his clothes) but I'm not going to judge anyone who feels otherwise. It is, as you point out, a decision that everyone has to make for themselves. Many would argue that the guy's talent has nothing to do with his political stance and that's a valid viewpoint.

Question - How do you follow someones Twitter feed? I thought it was @person’sname but just shows a few, not the continuous stream I thought it should be I have the same problem. I thought maybe if my phone was also connected to twitter, it would be different (I only connect to twitter through the computer). But I have no way to find out if what I think is right.

Just one more thought. You can't change hearts and minds if you close them off or turn your back on them. Even if these discussions have gotten heated at times I think they are important and only by exploring all sides of an issue can you truly make informed and responsible choices. When we label and marginalize people without making any effort to know them or put ourselves in their place we do them a great injustice.
Speaking for myself I did not comment on the Galliano situation without first looking up to see what the current status on the case was. Unfortunately many people all over the internet comment without even bothering to find out details. I just wouldn't want people judging me on the basis of rumor an inuendo so I try not to do the same to others.
