Oops, sorry about that mys*&@^#r!!! I'm not so nice. I hope he sells less than Adam!! ;D Just between you and me ;D even if it's only by one, I am hoping the same thing! He seems like a nice boy. I just always want Adam to be the best, the most, first, etc! Of course, opening week, means very little if the following weeks don't continue to sell. Radio play is what accomplishes sustained sales.

I'm joining the "wantshimtoselllessthanAdam" camp. I'm not very kind when it comes to any competition for Adam. Having said that - I think the Idol sales lists are irrelevant given the huge downward swing in sales in recent years (except for this year strangely). The numbers should be adjusted for the % decline yearly. But that will never happen of course. Also debuting at #1 is so dependent on who debuts the same week. So there - I've rationalized Adam's sales. For myself anyway.

He went from #2 to #9 almost over night. Lauren is at #4. So, I suspect the Scotty numbers are his Idol fans trying to give him a big opening. And now the Idol fans have moved on to Lauren. Second week will tell the picture more. And yes, JazzRocks, being #1 does depend on the releases. It gives you bragging rights though and Billboard takes notice. However, that being said, he will now own the record for the biggest release from a Male Country star ever! That's pretty darn great for an 18 year old!

That said, those are GREAT numbers for Scotty, and the entire AI franchise.
And frankly, things that are good for the AI franchise will likely have good reflections back onto Adam, i.e. "good singers who sell well can come from AI".

Scotty's actual unrounded numbers. He had 142 in "street date" violations. So, these numbres put him about 2400 behind Adam ;D
NEW 1 Scotty McCreery Clear As Day 196,739 196,881
