Isn't that a misquote? Fans donated pendants to other fans who couldn't afford them. No, I actually saw a lot of tweets, where peeps were in tears, becasue someone had bought the pendent for them, knowing their financial circumstances. It was a sight to behold and brought tears to my eyes thinking how great this fandom is. Exactly. But the quote I said was misquoted said Adam bought 200 pendants! |

We discusssed how easy this was the other day, why don't you guys just make a Twitter or Facebook account that you only use for voting?!Make an e-mail with Yahoo or Hotmail and then have it. It eliminates all the worries about your personal stuff being accessed. I just did this and made screencaps of the process and how to set up a voting only twitter and facebook. I'm gonna post a tutorial now for people who might be confused or unsure, give me a minute... |

purpose: to be able to set up a twitter or facebook account for voting or supporting adam with no ties to your real life (or if you wish, fandom) identity and no spamming of your friendsI did this with gmail but the process is the same for hotmail or yahoo.1) Go to www.gmail.com, make sure that if you already have an account there, you are logged out or you toggle "don't link to my google account" 2) Fill in the form something like this (note, no real name, birthdate, or alternate email address is necessary)   3) Accept the terms and conditions, etc. and voila! You have a gmail account. Open it up and leave it open. It will be useful for the next step...

fyi I just emailed the omusic awards to tell them of my voting issues and they very nicely replied that they are looking into problems and will get back to me...can't ask for more than that!
While I was at it, I 'very nicely' suggested that if they were not able to allow those outside of the US view their vids, they should let us know that before making us watch the commercials....the emailer said the are working hard on making their content available around the globe. So...perhaps in the not to distant future, there will be NO SHUNNING! yeah...

Man, making the higher level voting levels on the OMA site is a curse and a blessing! It was kind of nice to get stopped after 20-30 votes. Now I am almost at level 4 and I never thought they were going to tell me to stop!!! :  |

I wasn't around, so don't know what happened with the Walmart thing. I just wanted to say that I appreciate any and all news that everyone brings here. I'm not on twitter, facebook, myspace, any fan sites you have to pay for, don't have Adam google alerts, don't visit any other celebrity blogs, etc. If not for reading here, I wouldn't know shit about Adam. I'd probably have to wait and read the album review in my local paper to know that he came out with an album. If it sounds silly or untrue, I just skip it and the ensuing conversation. So thanks again everyone.

Just to clarify my couple of comments re trolls in case some/all these 'me too' tweets are aimed at me! At no time in my comments on twitter was I referring to those bring tweets to the list....just in case someone thought so. There are a lot of peeps going on about the unfairness of criticizing those bringing over tweets but have only seen 1 or perhaps 2 tweets, ages ago, suggesting we be more careful....am I off on this? And my initial comment referenced especially, a bogus tweet by someone calling themself Jimmy_Iovine that had peeps twittering back fan choices over and over...and that person really was being a nonsense troll as I understand the term.
My main concerns re twitter is the use of it by many to denigrate and gossip maliciously about other twitterers....seemingly for no important reason. Stuff from here is regularly taken to twitter or LJ or other forums and ridiculed anonymously. Do not get it....but it is what it is.
Which is why I love others bringing tweets here....and if they turn out to be nonsense...well it was entertaining for awhile....HaHa!! My "me too" was meant as a general thanks to those who bring over all the tweets for us. I can't keep track of who has said what about anything related to this here today!! I'm just happy to get the news. I could care less if every bit of news is true all the time. I don't dwell on any particular tweet anyway (unless from Adam himself) I just note the tweet in passing, smile and wait for the follow up. Just pure entertainment for me. |
