Ok. Squicking here. How the heck does one hemorrhage your vocal chords ??!!  ETA: I know just enough anatomy that I have a vision in my head that is not going away! Ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew, ew......... She's a smoker. We need our medical people to tell us if that could contribute. Many singers have smoked and had long careers. Adele is a throaty singer, so she very well may put a lot on stress on her vocal cords and nearby blood vessels, causing said blood vessels to rupture. |

And many singers have smoked and it has killed their voices! I can't imagine that smoking is anything but bad for a singer. |
