[shrug] I will be the first to say that "I know nuth'n". However, I'll also say - having dealt first hand recently with slight miscommunications leading to nuclear-sized implosions on a recent project - that now is not the time to state anything publicly. All involved parties need to figure out what page they're on and hash out their issues behind closed doors. Who knew what? Is this true fuckery or was advantage taken of something said or signed without full comprehension? What was actual intent? There is potential for a lot of gray areas here, and there's a lot at stake. Adam and Monte need to figure stuff out. And in the meantime, keeping their respective mouths closed, especially on public forums like Twitter, is probably the best decision for both of them. ITA, Hoppers. I think that fans can best support Adam by leaving this one alone. If Adam needs our help, he knows how to send out a bat-signal and rally the troops via Twitter. Barring a call to action, I am going to refrain from judgment and speculation. It only causes me sadness to think about a possible rift between these two long time friends. Adam has enuf on his plate with HIS new music and with doing what he can to possibly block these unauthorized releases, without also having to deal with fans' speculation and tweets. |

Pretty sure Adam responded in less than 24 hours.
ETA: I am 99% sure that no one from here is tweeting Adam or Monet about this situation. We are just discussing it among ourselves. It's good to hear different opinions, I think.

IMO, the fact that Neil replied to this nutcase's question at all, is telling. He could have ignored her or blocked her, but he chose to reply. As NoAngel said on Twitter, 'Neil doesn't get his info about Adam off of the internet. He gets it from Adam.' Perhaps Neil is playing "bad cop" and what he said is a statement about what happened. Why does everyone assume Neil knows any of Adam's business? We have proof just in the last two days that he doesn't necessarily know ANYTHING. Cam stated in her interview with Autostraddle that she co-produced Adam singing Dreamer with a guy who worked on her EP and that it was amazing hearing Adam add tricks to her song. Neil tweeted that he had heard Cam and Adam sing the song but that he didn't think they had recorded it in studio. Obviously he didn't know anything about the fact that they had. When he first saw the reference to Beg for Mercy his only comment was "Cool album cover" doesn't sound like he had any idea what it was until the fans told him. So why do we think he would know anything at all about Monte and Adam's situation with Welsford. Just because Neil worked as a production assistant on Adam's tour doesn't mean he has detailed knowledge of all of Adam's business. |

I think the thing that seems oddest to me is that Monte thinks highly enough of Malcolm Welsford to thank him on his new album's liner notes. Whereas Adam thinks the guy fucked him over for a buck. If both Adam and Monte were equally fucked over, why would Monte be grateful to him? Of course, it's possible that the scam album fuckery came to light after Monte had finished printing his album covers. But then I would think that Monte could just as easily chastise Malcolm as Adam did. I'm seriously not a Monte hater. I want very much for everything to be good between him and Adam. But I must admit things look a bit odd. JMHO YMMV etc etc Certainly - food for thought! Hmmm......... :-/ so confused! ??? |

Responding that he doesn't know if Cam and Adam recorded the song is a casual response to a casual situation. And perhaps he does know, but since the album tracks are top secret, he lied.
Replying to a serious situation, the way he did with the Monte tweet is completely different IMO.
And why would he know anything? He's Adam's brother, not just aa PA on the tour. He is living in LA now (up until a week ago, at Adam's house.) I'm sure they talk. And perhaps they even talked about this because I am guessing that the shit hit the fan last night when Adam found out about these 2 albums, whether Monte is involved or not. Adam's tweets sounded like he was pissed.
It may be "jumping the gun" to think that Monte could be involved. But I also think it is naive to think that there is absolutely no way Monte could be involved. I can see both sides of the argument.
