I'm new here and the whole BFM argument confuses me. In truth I like the Citizen Vein songs and those are the ones on BFM. Having seen the ASCAP registry I don't think it's arguable that these are just older songs by Adam and Monte that no longer represent Adam's vision. I do get that Adam doesn't endorse it and it's not the real second record but it happens quite often that artists don't own their masters. Ironically Adam and Monte probably have more writing credit on this older record than they do on the first RCA record (if you look people like Max Martin and Dr. Luke wrote most of that stuff). Someone clearly has the rights to use Adam's name because who would be crazy enough to get into a legal battle with Sony who even if their music companies aren't doing so well make a fortune on TVs and playstations. Anyway - I'm not endorsing the product- I won't buy it but I sometimes feel like people in the glamily take Adam's 140 character tweets and invent details that aren't there. How can you blame Monte? He went into the studio and wrote some songs with Adam and now someone else got the rights? Not his doing. The argument confuses me too, and part of my confusion undoubtedly stems from the fact that so much of it is speculation. I've decided to suspend judgment until we hear more from the parties involved. Having said that, though, I have to add that I wouldn't mind the release of this old material quite so much if it didn't always seem to coincide with the release of new material. It seems like a deliberate attempt to confuse fans who have been eagerly awaiting Adam's new album. IA....it's the timing that is most upsetting. I know it's 'good' business on their part, but it is just so sleazy. IDK how ppl don't care about their rep like that..really shows a lack of personal integrity....all for some short sighted money.

Come to think of it - there is no "good" time to release anything unauthorized...it is always wrong. Otherwise - I am eagerly awaiting a download link, as I am dying to have every sound that was ever recorded by BB...

As for me, I would love to have great quality Citizen Vein recordings. I would especially love them if Adam stood to make money off of them and be at least accepting of their being released. If they do ever surface and Adam is unhappy with the release I will just steal them like I did Take One. But I prefer to buy them with Adam's blessing.

Ok, here's a reason that Monte might have been willing to work with Welsford again even after the Take One business.
1) The entire original Take One controversy was focused around Hi-Fi Recordings who had supposedly obtained the rights to the masters when they bought out Wilshire Records. As far as I am aware even though Welsford was the producer on these tracks and at least I THINK Wilshire was his company no one ever interviewed him about this and I never saw any statement from him personally on this situation. All of the press and interviews were with John Hecker (sp) of Hi-Fi. So at that point do or did we even know for sure whether Welsford was a bad guy? Maybe he convinced Monte that he got screwed over too.
2) Has anyone tracked info yet on the companies mentioned in this new release and whether or not it is confirmed that Welsford is indeed involved with these companies. IF he definitely is then that would mean he is now showing that he was involved from the beginning since in the first Take One scandal all rights had supposedly been transferred to Hi-Fi Records which we do not see named here. Again if he had managed to keep his nose clean with Monte through the previous shit storm Monte may have been unsuspecting.
3) There is a small possibility that Hi-Fi after being unable to get Take Two release sold off the rights they had to someone else who is now fronting whatever this new company is. So the best thing at this point would be to track down EXACTLY who is involved in ownership of the company or companies listed in this new album release.
ETA: You know Welsford was originally from New Zealand, maybe someone could do some background research on his professional connections in New Zealand and get an idea if this guy was a weasel there. Does Liam know anything about him or can he check with his contact in music?

Adam has to brush up on his acting skills. I don?t think that smile fooled any of us! Yeah, pretty sure he didn't really want to be photographed, but still very nice about it, though. I can't believe the paps found him there. Did they get tips that Adam was in the shop, or they were just there all the time waiting for celebs to show up? It's a Whole Foods very convenient for celebs.

If it was last Novemeber, I probably would have bought it. This scumball capitalizes on the publicity and promo Adam will be getting for the real album.

Hi guys. I was away all day and I'm trying to catch up with twitter and at Atop. I had screencaped Lisa's rant, just in case she denies it. And yes, I was VERY angry.

what is proves is that Monte continues to have a business relationship with this guy. Monte apparently doesn't find him to be as slimey as Adam does. so far: 1) Monte thanked the guy on Monte's CD = there was some relationship while creating Monte's CD 2) Monte's name is on "Beg for Mercy" So, how does this prove that Monte KNEW about "Beg for Mercy" release? And how does it prove that Monte HAD KNOWN about the release PRIOR TO WORKING with the guy on his own CD? (sorry I can't remember the title) I am still confused... As far as Lisa's tweets - there was no clear picture as to what was meant and who she's referred to, so I am ignoring that old business completely.... 3) Monte talked about this album this past weekend. Adam didn't know it existed. (Why wouldn't Monte have told Adam about BFM already? Why was Adam kept in the dark?) 4.) Monte said (this past weekend) that Adam would "get paid from this project also", but that Adam couldn't talk about the bastard album or endorse it because he was under contract with RCA. (When Adam found out about it- he talked about it. He sent a message out to 1.2 million followers AND he is pissed!) 5) Monte discussed releasing these songs in a current ustream video he did. 6.) Monte has wanted to release these songs for a long time and has discussed this with his "supporters". A few of these Monte stans were told by Monte that he owned the rights to these songs. 6.) Lisa's tweets- They were pretty clear to me. It wasn't hard to read between the lines. 7.) Neil's tweet. 8.) Monte's silence on this matter. There are enough red flags here for me personally to SUSPECT that something shady is going on behind the scenes on Monte's part. Usually, where there is smoke...there is fire. This doesn't mean that I am going to start attacking people on Twitter or sending messages to Monte or Adam. It means that I am suspicious of Monte's involvement.

Regarding the question about unofficial and bastard albums - [...] In July 2009, there was an announcement that the recordings from these sessions were going to be released. It did not happen. I have seen nothing that indicates that these recordings will actually be released now. Agreed. It's like fishing... for fan interest, for (free) PR, for behind-the-scene ($/dialogue) exchanges, ... JMO Thanks for the warm welcome guys - glamberts are always so welcoming - love that! As for the BFM release - I don't see any way these won't be released - they are up on Amazon for pre-order and while the label info seems to have changed if it is at all through the previous listing- (Strange records?) when I looked them up they had an agreement with Universal. This doesn't seem to be a fly by night release.
