Q3, respectfully, you have wanted these CV songs released for a long time so I understand, but I'm going to go with Adam's public statements about this, and RCA's reaction to these albums on AO, both of which suggest that they find this harmful to Adam's brand at this moment. (And the promo that the BFM people are releasing which is IMO clearly intended to mislead). No money from me, and I'll actively discourage others from buying unless Adam says otherwise. Yeah, that's where I am with it. |

Q3-You don't think that this unauthorized and unwelcome surprise release is going to take away a lot from Adam's sales this time just like it did last time? 100k sales loss is nothing to sneeze at - and a lot to put in the pocket of some underhanded creeps. And how many potential fans will think this is his new music and then listen to it and be disappointed and not become a fan. I don't like it at all and I think it is too bad if this is mistaken for his new music and where he is now. And the timing of this mess speaks for itself. I am angry about it and I think it is despicable and so is anyone who has a part in it so I'll say what Adam said cause I agree with him. "Some folks will do anything for a buck. fuck" JMHO -- I do not think this will do anything to hurt Adam's sales. If anything, it will create a news story about his music and early career and undermine some of the "Made on Idol, too Broadway" stigma. It proves he was trying to be a recording artist for years. I used to do sales forecasting and market estimations for large entertainment companies as part of my job and in similar situations the net result was a sales increase for the primary product -- not a decrease. Finally, I have heard enough about the new Adam music to be firmly convinced that it is so good it will sell and get airplay. If it is as good as I hear it is, and the buzz is tremendous for Adam #2, it will blow everything away.There is no chance that this old music will get any measurable airplay in the markets that matter. No chance. It will be bought by fans who buy all things Adam and who will probably buy multiple copies of Adam 2. |

Ooooh, Liam gave a nice shoutout to Atop!  Really~~~  On other matters...... I think that Steve Cooke may be confused about what happened to his own wiki page. Many people do not realize that you cannot put up self promotional pages and that is what he or his people/fans had done. Wiki editors are very earnest about not letting Wikipedia turn into an advertising site and it is really hard. ---- on the disturbance in Adam universe ----- I think that Adam fans are starting to sort out what was very confusing. There were a lot of rumors flying around that make Monte appear to be a bad actor but there are no facts to back that up. (I agree he was rude to Lulu and his BS Tweet was mindless.) In addition, most of these rumors make no sense in the context of how the music business and copyrights work. For example, regarding the rumor about Adam having to assign his copyrights on songs to Monte so he could be on Idol: The Idol contracts and terms for AI8 were publicly filed with the California Court because Allison was a minor. We know the restrictions and, as far as I can tell, you could be a songwriter while you were on the show. The restriction is that you cannot have an active recording contract. Oh dear, was that gif animal cruelty? I assumed it was a cherished pet. :( But I've deleted it. |

I would never want anything I typed here to prevent anyone from expressing their opinions. I'm just frustrated when people start fabricating things when there are no facts other than the small handful of information we have via ASCAP, twitter and that other website. I just find it hard to believe that so many people have demonized a person without knowing more than 3 tweets worth without any context- it's not like I'm lining up to buy the album... Also - when I'm talking about "they" I mean Monte and Adam making statements so I'm not sure who you are calling a scumbag but man - people are so tense over this... I just meant wait for more info. I find it even weirder (and please know I am not singling out anyone just an overall angry feeling from this board and the twitterverse) that the glamberts who rally around Adam and such great movements like noh8 and the concepts of acceptance and equality could so quickly resort to the tactics that extremist groups (okay - I'm biased but thinking of the Christian ultra right) use when justifying homophobia or any other form of persecution and do so without enough information to make an informed decision. I love and respect everyone's passion for Adam and I am not one to tell anyone else how to be a fan (because I hate it when people do it to me) but I would ask anyone to just wait and see what happens before letting this get so... angry. Seriously - I think some fans take his tweets like they are verses of the bible and bend them to their own will. I am angry and I'm ragey. I feel very comfortable saying this here, it's been my home since day one. If I can't say it here I can't say it anywhere. Personally, I have not demonized anyone and until I have more information I won't, but that doesn't mean I won't express my distaste in the way Monte has handled the situation thus far. This is an Adam Lambert fansite. We discuss all things Adam related and this happens to be a hot topic right now, unpleasant as it may be. People will express themselves how they choose. If something inappropriate is posted we have mods to control the situation. I don't agree with everything I see posted, but each member has the right to post what they feel just as I do. I expect this topic to go on for a while so I'm prepared to see all sorts of comments. I will follow to the best of my ability and I will form my own opinion. I hope you feel you can do the same. |

Isn't it likely that many of those who bought Take One also bought FYE because they wanted all the Adam material they could get? I didn't buy Take One and I won't buy this one because Adam has expressed his unhappiness with both, but I completely understand if someone wants a complete collection of everything Adam has ever recorded. |
