Well....this photo just made my day!! Adam and Johnny Depp are two people I absoultely love to see together!! (rt click/save!!) NoAngel loved your essay. We are definitely 'family' here. I'm with Q3 on this- I don't believe BFM will cut into sales of album #2 to any significant degree. The only thing I hate is that this bastard album will be the one on the shelves for the holiday shopping season. Casual fans who liked WWFM and IIHY may buy BFM and believe this is the direction Adam is going in now. They may get it home, expecting more Pop Songs and ballads and end up with a bunch of dated sounding, poorly produced rock songs. :( I still see that damn Take 1 CD everytime I go to Target. >:( This is the way I feel, too. I think the CV stuff is just bad and if I listened to this first , I wouldn't be interested in him anymore. And, yes, casual fans will not know anything about this bastard album. They will think it's his new album and buy it. (Yes, I listened to the snippets and no, it didn't change my mind.) Adam survived having Take One (a cheesy batch or reworked demo recordings) being released 1 week before his debut album. He now has a strong brand and will have massive promo for his next album. I am confident that if BFM is actually released, he will be fine. If anything it will just stir up more press for him -- like Take One did. And, in this case, will also help explode the persistent myth that Adam was a theater boi who just decided to try out for Idol. Adam, RCA, Sony, 19, DMG all have a big stake in the new album. If BFM is released, they all know how to leverage it as a PR opportunity. This music has been online since early 2009. Fans know it, some (including me) like a lot of it. We all have our fav Adam songs -- and the ones we like a bit less. All a matter of taste. ETA: The CV songs that I really like are not one the list of 6 that are listed for BFM. 15 Minutes of Fame/Pop Goes that Camera, Glamorize, CTF, and several others are missing. |

Q3, When is the perfect marketing date for Era #2 IYO - Album and Single. I always see "Take One" at Target, but they made up for it with Glam Slam Nation Live. The name still makes me smile. |
