Long twitter party. Wow. But, what do we know now that we didn't know before?
Single out in November (probably). (We kinda guessed that one already, since there has been no news or details about it.) Because he is a perfectionist. (We all know that!)
Single not chosen yet. (Really? What does that imply? A weath of riches to choose from or nothing that stands out as a hit?)
Album out in spring (Feb/March?). (Spring or Feb/March? To me there is a difference. But most figured it wouldn't be in January.)
Album will feature both voice and music. (Duh. As opposed to sound effects? But I am glad to hear he is still emphasizing the voice.)
He prefers LA to NYC. (figured, or he would be living in NYC) And he relaxes at home. (Kinda figured that, too, as the paps have not found him much. And being in public isn't exactly relaxing.)
The new single will have a video. (I would certainly hope so. It is almost a requirement.)
Lots of other answers, but..... no new info about the album/single, really. And, lots of good questions that he chose not to answer. Titles, collaborators, tour plans, other projects in the works, etc.
And, of course, no mention of the bastard albums.
So, I am thrilled to have had a twitter party and frustrated as hell that we still know basically NOTHING!
Sorry if I sound bitchy. I need new music, and I need it now. Well, actually about 6 months ago. :-/ :-/

awww, man, times like this I wish I had a twitter account (gotta remind myself that most other times, like it or not, it is definitely GOOD for me to resist that rabbit hole!). Maybe someone should ask him if the style/sound/feeling of the album has undergone a significant change since he began working on it. Because I'm sure there are a lot of reasons, technical and non-Adam specific, bureaucratic, economic, etc, behind the mild delays, but I'm getting the definite uneducated sense that one part of it is that Adam has shifted slightly in his feelings about the music and what he wants it to sound like. The new collabs, the vaguest hints in these tweets, support that feeling for me. Anyone else get that feeling? Like there has been an Adam-determined fresh direction here? I feel like Adam is going through this creative process at a moment of concentrated artistic and emotional evolution in his life, which must be the MOST EXCITING time to be making an album, but must also spin him up in a whirl of ever transforming energy that makes him not quite ready to finish it up now. Perhaps he was well on his way to finishing the album, but then met new people and artists, and hit a new, expansive stage in a supremely important personal relationship, and then was inspired by a week in the desert and all sorts of new sights and sounds and feelings...why let go now when the ride is still so full of force and motion and excitement and FUN? Especially when you feel all this urgency to make an exceptional SECOND album that expresses yourself and where you are? I've never been involved, I think, in so intense a creative process, but I've certainly spent enough time working on something (a collaborative book-like something) which took long enough and got stuck in enough of an old rut that by the time it came out I felt almost entirely emotionally disconnected from it. I for one am so glad that Adam is taking his time and riding out his ride letting it roll freely over his new creative terrain on this one. Makes me more and more excited and more and more willing to wait... I definitely have been thinking for a while that Adam was taking the time he needed to create something that fulfilled his own expectations, and I agree that there has probably been an Adam-inspired shift in direction as he works through his process. So it was interesting to see some of that feeling confirmed by his tweet that the delay is partially due to his 'perfectionism'. Although obviously I'm putting my own spin on what 'perfectionism' means in this case. And...he said the single is going to *explode*!!!!!! Congratulations on having your tweet answered, NoAngel!! midwifespalI thought it was a brilliant question the one you asked and I decided to ask him! Not that he's gonna answer it but I tried! Aww, thanks, Gelly! Looks like (according to Stardust) we weren't the only ones wondering. Appreciate your asking for me! I always think of questions at the end of parties! Other question's I'd have asked: What is his very favorite specific place in the world? What is his favorite childhood memory? Name one obscure artist that he wishes could be mainstream famous. Does he ever get tired of talking about himself? Does he think his fan's idea of him as a person is accurate?
Does he think a lot about making his music accessible?
(there are more but I'll shut up now, because what's the point of imaginary tweeting?)  Oh I love your questions!! I stole 2 more! The ones I highlighted in red! :D |
