[wry grin] If you have no control, you can either shriek, or you can go "whatever'. Monte has chosen to go "whatever". Monte knows quite well that the timing and W&co PR approach is completely riding On Adam's 'Reload' album. He is not dumb. It helps with BFM sells. Business is business. It's not a 'whatever' for Monte. And it's 'Fuck' for Adam. [laughs] Good 'ol "Reload" album !! ;D Adam has said his "fuck", and it is rumored that there are now lawyers in play. IMO, I still think its more about Monte's love for the rock music they did all those years ago than any residuals he might share with Adam. YMMV and all that.

My real question is whether Eber is speaking for Adam as well as himself now. [shrugs] That's between Adam and his dad. A public tweet saying what appears to me to be in conflict with what Adam PUBLICLY tweeted concerns his fans. IMO

It appears Monte is still connected in some way with Welsford (recent liner notes evidence at the very least) and he does not seem to mention/see/care about either the exploitation of his friend by false marketing or timing clearly intended to harm Adam. So, it is simple for me. Won't buy the music, and on the whole would prefer a new guitarist. But that's just me. Adam on the other hand, is a sweet, loyal and caring soul.....and we have seen he has an enormous capacity to absorb bad stuff, put his head up and keep going. He will be fine, he's dealt with way worse attempts to harm him. I feel the same way.

[wry grin] If you have no control, you can either shriek, or you can go "whatever'. Monte has chosen to go "whatever". Actually he's not saying "whatever." He's choosing a third option -- he's actively promoting it. Big difference.

The fact that it's called the bastard album should tell us everything we need to know as to why no one who is a fan of Adam's should buy this album. Adam can't come right out and say don't buy this...that'd make him ripe for a lawsuit for loss of income by the label that is producing it.
However, Adam already, in so many words, said don't buy this album. He said it's along the same lines as Take One so I'm not sure why this is confusing or conflicting for anyone as to why they should NOT buy this album.
You want to support monte? cool... go to CDBaby and buy HIS albums. This isn't an album that is being produced or released off Monte's talent, hardwork or name....it's being released off of ADAM'S. You aren't supporting Monte by screwing over Adam if you think you are then I don't even know what to say to that.
What does that have to do with buying an album that Adam isn't endorsing, produced by people who are trying to screw Adam over? I don't get it. Really truly I don't.
My thoughts are more like a question and it's this:
Do you support Adam and HIS creative vision and the path he wants his career to go in? if the answer is YES, then this isn't it and you shouldn't support, buy or promote this album.
These are people who are taking advantage of Adam's fame and hard work to make a buck off him. If they believed so much in these songs why weren't they released 7 years ago when he recorded them? Why wait until Adam is about to release his sophmore album? I'll tell you why, because they are scumbags.
If the answer is NO then rethink why you admire and follow Adam and why you're in this fandom.
I will seriously side eye ANY fan who buys this album. Steal it if you want too, whatever, but if you put money in the pockets of these jackholes it truly shows a total lack of respect for Adam and his talent and art.
JMO (and now probably no one is glad I'm back)

RE: Monte/Beg For Mercy.
Do I care? I've decided that I don't really care about this either way, whether the timing is wrong/Welsford being a sleazebag/If Adam gets money from this/If Monte is evil and a bad guy and should be vilified for "promoting" this?/Is Adam and Monte on the outs... whatevs.
The only problem that I can see with this is the timing, but the Malcolm guy has a right to sell these, so whatever, don't care to waste energy over this. If I like the music I'll buy, if I don't I won't, simple as that.
What I really want is new music from Adam, not old "new" music, so my focus, money and time will be spend on Adam's new single and new album. Maybe months down the road, when I'm a little overloaded with the new album, and want something different, I'll look back into this.
And..... that's all I really have to say, alright carry on...

[wry grimace] "Who wouldn’t want one of the best singers ever (in my opinion) singing on anything and everything?" Possibly, at this point, the singer. Brilliant point. That's all.
