Sort of off topic, for the moment, but in the LA area we are having our infamous Santa Anas. It is over 90 degrees and will barely cool off tonight. Tonight there will be no October fireplace roaring! IKR - I just had to turn on the fucking air conditioning. 8-) Kind of hard to get out the old Halloween decorations. Should have done it last week when it was cold and rainy. ;D

Hmmm, well until Monte's name is put on the cover and Adam's is taken off, I'd have to disagree! [grins wryly; snorts] I bet nothing would make BOTH Adam and Monte happier! :

(I winced when I read Dadbert's comment, but then I winced too when he tweeted "don't break up the band" and "hate Dub-step" and a few others. Don't get me wrong - I'm sure he's a great guy, great father, etc. etc. but I think he should re-think tweeting specific stuff/advice related to Adam's career unless it's just being generally positive and his son's champion. Because they probably do have each other on speed-dial for other stuff.)

This whole thing reeks of underhandedness and exploitation of Adam with Monte having a large part in it. Some friend that Monte. With a friend like this...... :-/

Lol, I wonder what would happen if a song that Adam and Monte collaborated on actually made it on Adams new album, (Not very likely, just stirring) Boy oh boy this fandom, The shit will probably definitely hit the fan then..
Sorry, just all of this is disturbing my cool. I miss my happy place :(

YES...that's what rubbed ME the wrong way....in doing so, he's actively promoting it. In a sense. Monte loves this material. He's always said so. He's always wanted it released. MONTE DOES NOT CONTROL THE TIMING OF THIS. However, I don't blame him for wanting to share something he has loved for so long. He is completely open in that this is old music and that he and Adam have or are working on new material. In his letter, Monte makes the decision to buy or not to buy up to the individual. I agree with you Hoppers. I love Adam, but he is not a god. In the end I think Adam would want us to make our own decisions, whether or not they are popular. He does--take his Galliano tweet as an example “@jenepherre not at all… But just cuz he’s (was) an a—hole, that means I can’t wear his gorgeous clothes? #policalcorrectnessquestions.” But I'm not buying because I don't like the music. Period.

Man, I wish I could get *my* dad to do that! I dunno, I've found that fathers, y'know, have their own opinions. Its not like Eber set up a twitter account that says "ImAdamsDad". Eber tweets about his own stuff. Occasionally he tweets about his kid (proud papa). I just don't think he's gonna restrict his own tweeting to be Adam's cheerleader or whatnot. He's his own person with his own opinions.

Sorry, just all of this is disturbing my cool. I miss my happy place :( I think it is possible Adam and Monte will work together again. And, I think if it's cool with Adam, it will be with most of his fans. I could actually see Adam saying something akin to "well, we didn't see completely eye to eye on that, but . . ." ) I'm not betting on Adam working with Welsford again.

Burrito alert. I haven't popped the cork yet so this post is going to be dull. Just wanted to say that I like Monte, mainly because he likes Adam and Adam likes him. He accepted Adam, befriended Adam and helped Adam when a lot of straight guys wouldn't and for that I'll always have a soft spot for him. I don't care about his music and will never be a "fan" of his but I won't leap to judgement regarding this bastard album because I believe in innocent until proven guilty. Truth is it'll take Adam turning his back on him (which I doubt he'll ever do -- he's not made that way) before I will. Not that it matters if I do. If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hears it does it make a sound? Ha! Even in a sober state I post gobbledygook. Don't know about forests, but in the high wind recently, two trees in my backyard fell, and I didn't hear a thing. As to Monte's statement, I thought it was clear and informative. I wish he hadn't put the direct link there, but, he did say he was proud of the music. Why didn't he address the slimy promotion and timing with Adam's (and his, not that it matters) album? We can only guess. So here's mine: Monte said he had to get all the facts. Several days later he releases a well-crafted statement of facts. I think he was smart enough to consult his attorney and advisors and any handlers he may have. The statement is probably what he was advised to stick to. To address the marketing strategies may have had further legal ramifications. Will I be buying the CD? No way. On principle. But, it helps that I don't like what I have heard of the CV music. Will I be supporting Monte by buying his CD? Nope. No principles here. Just don't like it much. Am I gonna make a judgment about what Monte thinks or feels, or what his relationship with Adam is or should be after this issue? Can't. Without knowing Monte personally, seeing his interaction with Adam off stage, in private, seeing his interaction with others off stage, or having the opportunity to "cross examine" him, I cannot convict him of anything "beyond a reasonable doubt" or based on "the preponderance of evidence." Adam finished his first single today. It is gonna explode in a few weeks. Adamland is looking bright. Yay, Adam!
