Sorry just got here but I just read the letter Monte put out and went to the link okay had to and then I listened to beg for mercy and all i have to say is Holy Sh-t I hope some of his songs sound like that on his new album!!!!!!!!!!!! Alright, I just went and listened to that clip and um..ewww. BFM sounds really dated, and I can just hear in a few spots where Adam could Adamize this and make it better, but really isn't there. And I usually like the CV stuff, as I have like 6 songs on my Ipod, but just ugh, no to this one. So don't seem like I'll be buying these...

(I really would love to flail about the new single, I would - but it's just hard for me to do that because I haven't heard it yet. * sigh * I could flail about a photo-shoot pic . . . if we HAD a photo-shoot pic . . . BUT we don't. * sigh * Maybe if Adam voiced an opinion about the GOP debates, or Beyonce's belly bump brouhaha, or OccupyWallStreet, or something! But, no . . . So, I'm just post-vomiting about this BFM and Monte . . .)

Monte's link to the site is for two reasons and I think he's saying this: 1) - Listen to the music, this is not Adam being a session singer. It does have Adam's vision on it. This is not the same as Take One 2) - Monte has no power over it, this is the guy and site who is in charge, turn your Glambert power of persuassion on them. You've made a lot of other people sing a new tune. I propose we have ONE goal Convince Malcolm Welsford to rebrand the album by incorporatinga) Featuring Adam Lambert or Adam Lambert - the Citizen Vein era instead of branded Adam Lambert but still enough that yes it will be stocked with Adam's real albums b) Before he became a household name c) Supported by band members...names here d) When Adam was into Rock Do not try to change the timing, that's a money issue and he's not going to budge. It's still sleaze but it's less sleaze and if he will give on the labeling scam then put Glambert support toward it. Yes, Adam may still not be thrilled, and he can't officially be supportive because of RCA contract but he also made his earlier twitter comments on the spur of the surprise moment. He's got the makings of a good politician, he can spin the positives out of this. And if we can't stop the Album's timing then a positive launch of the BFM album actually could be helpful in building positive vibes for the Lambert brand. OMG he's so popular even his early stuff is selling like hot cakes. And if nothing else. Those who have always wanted either a rock album from Adam or who are looking for xmas presents will have the option. Monte aside (I'm not budging on that)....this makes a lot of sense - capitalizing on the fans goodwill and reducing the damage to Adam's "brand".

Am I gonna make a judgment about what Monte thinks or feels, or what his relationship with Adam is or should be after this issue? Can't. Without knowing Monte personally, seeing his interaction with Adam off stage, in private, seeing his interaction with others off stage, or having the opportunity to "cross examine" him, I cannot convict him of anything "beyond a reasonable doubt" or based on "the preponderance of evidence." Good to know you won't be swayed by the other jury members who want to convict, convict, convict! Ha! Too bad we can't have an honest to goodness trial. Adam would be called to testify! I think I'm going to fantasize about Adam being on the witness stand now. The thought's making me smile as we speak.

Anyone thinking of buying the album might want to read the comments left on Monte's blog post. Most fans are being very eloquent, balanced and polite, and though there is a range of opinion, the fact that what is at issue for most is the deceptive marketing, timing and titling of the thing is really made clear.
Ultimately for me it doesn't really make a huge numeric impact what a small group of fans who follow Monte as well as Adam choose to do individually. It matters what confused casual fans of Adam do on Amazon, itunes and in record stores, and the impact of possible lost sales, and confusion about his musical direction.
Who knows how the final numbers will work out, and how many of the "Take One" 100k units sold could have been FYE sales instead instead of just additional buys, but I feel bad for anyone who mistakenly took Take One home, and will mistakenly do the same for this album.
If this was just a 'Citizen Vein featuring Adam Lambert and Monte Pittman!' release, especially one at a different time and MARKETED CLEARLY AS SUCH, and Adam didn't explicitly come out against it, lots of stans would probably check it out.
I think Welsford is making a financial calculation that he doesn't mind losing the hardcore fan buyers who will boycott and making Adam mad, because he figures the deceptive marketing will end up getting him more total buyers in the end, many of whom don't know Adam's stance on the release, and even that it's not his official release.
I can't support it on any level.

Just thinking about what I can do personally to help Adam in this situation and the best I can think of is to ignore the whole thing from now on. So, that is my plan. Silence won't make it go away but maybe depriving BFM of oxygen will help it sink below the waves. And hopefully it will minimize the gain to the folks aiming to exploit him. That, and buying a few extra "Reloads" when the time comes will hopefully make me feel better!

Hm. Well, it's likely they won't, y'know, 'cuz Adam's said as much, I think. But there'll probably be a few more new old albums ahead . . . Yep, cause there are a bunch more CV songs out there, so I expect they will put them out with Adam #3 and #4 cause it's all profit for this weasel!.

If only for the fact that I just "know" that the label is going to give this a huge push and that I think that radio stations are eager for new Adam music, but only waiting to see if it's good and fits on their playlist to play it. And of course he'll get media attention, and whatever else to try and make this era a moderate to huge success. And I'm really trusting Adam's instincts that he'll make the music great this time around. Or maybe it's just my hopes and desires. But because of all of this, is the reason why I'm able to flail without even hearing a lick of new music.
