okay, i'm back, properly lubricated. Can we talk about Adam's tweet today where he said, " potential first single"? Potential tells me it's a maybe/maybe not first single. Do the odds favor this being the first single? Just because he tweeted about it? Will the wind change direction next week? How excited should I be? Does the fact he tweeted about it mean it's super duper good, could very well be the first single, and if it's not, his album has depth, the likes of which we haven't seen? Inquiring soaked minds wanna know.

I am not sure why Monte is the bad guy he is not the one releasing this album and not the one who picked the timing. Just because he has a different opinon about the album does not make him un-supportive of Adam, they just feel different about it. I am not supporting the album I do not think its right what they are doing.
Now I will run off quickly before I get stuff hurled at me...

Just an analogy that makes sense to me but may not to you. Say you and 5 friends go on spring break. The GIRLS GONE WILD film crew is there filming away. When they offer you $100 to sign a release and you’re a little strapped for cash, you sign. Then when the video is released a year later, and you are teaching 2nd grade in Idaho, and the cover says MSZUE in 3 inch red letters on the front with no other names mentioned, how would you feel? And how much worse if your friends, whose names were not on it and who were working at Starbucks or McDonalds, were promoting it and calling “no harm no foul?” It’s all in perspective and from Adam’s perspective, I think they are fucking him over for money and publicity. I would wish I never signed that contract. We all do things because of financial needs, lack of knowledge of the ramifications, youth. Something Adam said in BTM about the pictures with Brad referring to the fact that he had no idea he would be famous one day and it would be an issue. Same thing to me in reference to these songs.

Anyone thinking of buying the album might want to read the comments left on Monte's blog post. Most fans are being very eloquent, balanced and polite, and though there is a range of opinion, the fact that what is at issue for most is the deceptive marketing, timing and titling of the thing is really made clear. Ultimately for me it doesn't really make a huge numeric impact what a small group of fans who follow Monte as well as Adam choose to do individually. It matters what confused casual fans of Adam do on Amazon, itunes and in record stores, and the impact of possible lost sales, and confusion about his musical direction.Who knows how the final numbers will work out, and how many of the "Take One" 100k units sold could have been FYE sales instead instead of just additional buys, but I feel bad for anyone who mistakenly took Take One home, and will mistakenly do the same for this album. If this was just a 'Citizen Vein featuring Adam Lambert and Monte Pittman!' release, especially one at a different time and MARKETED CLEARLY AS SUCH, and Adam didn't explicitly come out against it, lots of stans would probably check it out. I think Welsford is making a financial calculation that he doesn't mind losing the hardcore fan buyers who will boycott and making Adam mad, because he figures the deceptive marketing will end up getting him more total buyers in the end, many of whom don't know Adam's stance on the release, and even that it's not his official release. I can't support it on any level. I think you hit the nail on the head. And this is why fans are so upset, we've already seen how a record like this can muck this up for Adam's real album and how it has plagued him for years. This is what disappointed me about Monte's statement. Either he doesn't get the negative impact this type of marketing will do to Adam's new album or he does and is still choosing to promote it. If Monte was put in a position where he had to pick sides, he didn't pick Adam's. There was no acknowledgment of Adam's disapproval of this. Nor was there a statement condemning the shady marketing used by Welsford but instead a plug for his site. I don't think anyone blames him for wanting the music out, but disappointment for not showing a little solidarity with Adam and the fans who have also supported Monte. All in all I feel badly for everyone involved, except for Welfsford.

If anyone doesn't want to read any more opinions on the Monte situation, kindly scroll on by right now. Thank you. I'm not even going to opine on what Monte wrote, because I'm in no position to gauge whether he's being truthful. But one thing has stood out to me. Adam's silence. Monte has been taking a beating on Twitter ever since the bastard albums were announced. We know it. Certainly Adam knows it, too. Adam has a history of calling out his fans when they hassle people he cares about. He hasn't done it this time. At least so far, he's leaving Monte twisting in the wind, and that's just so uncharacteristic of him. He wouldn't have to go into detail, or even confirm or deny Monte's involvement. Just a tweet telling his fans to lay off his friend would be sufficient. Thus far, there has been no such tweet. No attempt to stop the abuse. NGL, I'd love to know the reason (and I don't buy that he's "too busy" to do it. It would take seconds). IMO, his silence speaks louder than words. I agree...it is no accident. But his silence is also deafening...he is in-actively killing a multi-year relationship by not stepping in. Guess that is what he wants. Life moves on I suppose....hope there are no regrets later....

With the BFM single being scheduled for release next week, will Adam's lawyers have enough time to stop it? If this single is not stopped, I just think all bets may be off for stopping the cd.
